Thread: I ski for fun.

I ski for fun.
I don't do it to feed my ego, which is as oversized as my gut.
I try not to judge or comment on others that I spend my fun time with. My gear is all a decade old at least. I am paying for kids stuff now, and can't justify replacing stuff that is still good. I wish I still broke three pairs a season so I could justify new gear, but it is what it is.
I only offer advice when it is solicited.
I don't like people who complain. I would hate to spend time in the woods with one of you and then come here and have you say my hand posiotion is bad.
I've had a bad week, but man the stuff on here the last couple days has made me think about how different I am from many I thought I had things in common with.
Last year SFB set me up with some base weld when none of the shops had it. People that do something for another for no personal gain like he did for me should be rewarded.
Back to pushing the paper.

Does letting a random stranger crash at your house because he posts on this board count?
But Buster made me promise not to go public with the critique of his form.

Skiing is not fun. It's fucking lame, but it does get me laid so I continue to do it.

he did reward me with a sweet pair of leather gloves that i wore holes in but still use
I'll be the first to cop to bein an e- asshole or employing a assholeseque e persona but i don't take the webz real cereal
lost a bro a couple of seasons ago in a slide outside golden
he'd always look up after a stellar run or tour and whip out the "this is what we do"
I ski for that reason and if i/we were not to ski
I/we would no longer be who i am or strive to be"When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

I met several maggots who are far more likable in person than on the internet. Including Rog. People are different on the internet. That's ok.
I believe neither Rog nor SFB are posting in anger, and I strive to find amusement in the petty feuding, as I believe they do.
There is often wisdom and humor in Hugh Conway's caustic Eeyore routine. Do you have a family member or a coworker who talks or complains about the same things over and over again? You can let it eat at you, and find their presence intolerable. Or you can accept this flaw, let it dissolve away, and enjoy the positive traits to which you would otherwise be blinded.
Accept the flaws of this community, and you will see that what lies beneath is of great value.

I waxed my dolphin this morning. Does that count?
Well said ISBD. I must say I have been surprised by some of the kooks I have met here and certain they say the same about me. And I'm ok with that.
That's life. You click with some and some ya don't.
Done with folks that have something to prove.
Live on. Ski for yourself and enjoy moving about the mountains.
Those that share that viewpoint and like to laugh are those that I chose to share my days with.
Group hug! Thanks I feel better.
