New Boot: Bring it back to the store?
I wasn't able to get the metal tab under the rubber shim without damaging the rubber.
Will my boot leak a lot more? Bring it back to the store? Get laughed at? Or maybe I'm being completely ridiculous?

Lange just puts the rubber dam there for show. Those things leak like a colander.

Next time you see a bunch of ski racers, notice two things:
- Lots of them wear Lange boots because Lange makes great race boots.
- Everyone with Lange boots has duct tape over the toe.

Open the boot up a little and work that fucker back into place. All it will really do is make the boots look uniform, as far as keeping water out....
Im anal enough that I would do it.a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

The bigger question is why the boot is on a cookie rack in your sink.

The toe dam can be easily replaced in Lange boots.
