If you wear glasses you don't need them. CSS. You would think 500 miles inland but nope still skis like maritime conditions. I wouldn't have any knowledge of local activities. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Schwiz was really really good today. Spent most my time lapping the Lakeview triple. Lots of hoots hollers, face shots, and stoke!

    Oh and Merry Christmas mags.

Pretty sure silver will suck for the remainder of the season. I’m #grateful schwiz is back to reigning $upreme.

Haha. I wouldn’t say supreme. Got a long ways to go to catch up with all the Jackass stoke from the last couple weeks! Maybe I just lack loyalty to any hill. Any mountain that lets me ski is a win in my book. Wish I could get a pass to all the local mountains. Had an incredible year at Jackass last year as a pass holder. Figured I’d give Schwiz a chance this year before Ikon completely ruins it.

Anybody at Swiz today? Considering going tomorrow but I’m guessing the lift lines will be total gong show

Was going to tour out of Burke but the IPAC warning and Lookout snow totals seem like it’s best to wait a day or two.

The kinda days that remind me to get in shape--better and sooner!

I don't think Silver's crown is in any danger, though--the gong show they've been putting on at the foggy ba$in in the midst of a good storm is all-time. Cat stuck on the off-load of the new quad? Can't open terrain that was fine for decades before the downhill lift went in? At least the base texturing at the top of the Great Escape is still included at no extra cost.

On Friday the lower lot had people parking over the (unmarked) edge of the plowed road with expected results. Ikon and "people (locals) know better" may not be the best combo. Hopefully the slash piles stay covered.

Challenging times at the big green $--positions still open!

The first three laps I took off Lakeview were all-time. Found some knee deep untracked late afternoon too. Wow.

Missing visitor on Schweitzer overnight. Mind those tree wells.

Yeah, he’s alive thankfully. Afraid that his frost bite will be extensive. Hopefully the guy pulls through.

I think they were trying to use non-committal language until family could be notified.

Sadly, it seems that he didn't survive.

    Yeesh, no good is right!

Mediocrity was in full effect today at Jackass. So crowded. 25% of the day was spent skiing without faceshots.

Not sure I can continue skiing there much longer.

He was gone when patrol found him. Rigor was fully set when found but Patrol went through protocol. He probably was gone well before the heli came in with thermal imaging since they weren't able to pick up a heat trace last night.

We heard the heli starting around 1030 and until at least 1130. Knew it wasn't good.

Do you know where he was? We didn't stick around very late yesterday, but north of Colburn was still closed when last I saw, and people seemed to imply it was that direction.

I was surprised when they made it sound like he made it that long out there. Such a bad deal. Ugh.

SAR hypothermia motto is: they’re not dead until they’re warm and dead.

Sad to hear, such a great stoke day to have end in tragedy.

How many of y’all run with beacons even if it’s going to be a 100% inbounds day?

Events like these always make me think about running with one in the resort. It seems about time for me to pick up one. It might not save you in every situation, but I would imagine you would be found much quicker if you were beeping.
