Super stoked to see all this! We land in Spokane in about an hour, headed to Silver for the week with groms aged 7, 6 and 2.5. We wanted to check out this part of the country and Silver's Waterpark will ensure everyone has fun. Missed the whole "30 min gondola to skiing bit" until after we booked but oh well.

Hope the snow holds up and is fun skiing all week! Will hopefully add to the stoke soon!

Probably. It's going to be pretty sketchy tomorrow and Tuesday, though. Probably for a few days so it's a great reference. Here's the site. https://www.idahopanhandleavalanche....rks-&-cabinets

Also, here's another really good BC resource, mostly for like-minded folks. https://www.panhandlebackcountry.com/

Hopefully going better at Silver. To the north the snow is already pretty sun affected unless you stick to the shade up high and tomorrow the snow level is supposed to go up over 5k' so it might be a good day for water slides. But Silver locals will be along shortly.

Gondi is 20 min and not a big deal. Have everything in a bag/pack before leaving the car. Easy. We got nuked by the sun today, unreal warm, pushing 50deg. North facing shaded aspects are skiing decent, everything else will be coral if it freezes tonight. Going to take every inch of the incoming storm to help. Tues on looks good. Big warm up again coming Thursday and friday.

West willow has options for safe, easy skiing. Not sure how well it would have survived todays warm up. Granite is a big day (from the Burke side) and gets nuked by the sun pretty hard. I’d be a little concerned about bad snow and/or avy conditions. Granite is low hanging fruit in about 3 weeks when the pass opens…

Yeah it was hot today. My son told some people it was colder in Atlanta than here (which it was when we left and arrived respectively)

Weather doesn't look fun tomorrow. Fingers crossed for decent weather rest of the week. Excited to check it all out no matter what though.

Thank you to all the Silver crew for showing me around and waiting during such a stellar storm cycle. Great meeting and skiing with you all. It was a memorable day! Back to reality for me with a 5 day work week staring at me. I like skiing and vacationing better...

    2013/14 Inland PNW thread

Great making turns with you Puma!! That was such a sick day!

Today at Schwiz with Kopi and an OG Mag.

    Such a wild mixed bag:
    - loads of face shots were had
    - the snow had super nice body on the 2 upper triples. X/Y was $$$.
    - it just got better on the upper hill as the day progressed; tons of wind transport.

The lower parts of the hill (anything below midway on Cedar) got sooooo fucked by the rain around noon. Easily encounter the WORST snow ive skied in 3 years. The 3-5” of new got water logged and formed VELCRO. We were skiing along and hit the line and about died; it was so bad it was funny!

Anyways great day skiing with a solid crew!

Protests and C132s made pretty easy work of the surfy/heavy snow.

Tomorrow might be okay if they get 3-5” of snow over this schmooooo. If they don’t and freeze that rain logged snow could be pretty heinous coral reef.

I’m guessing Silver will be the same; seeing snow on the stake… but that is a pretty high elevation. They certainly got rain on anything below that stake me thinks…

**edit snow stake is currently a rain stake**

Not rain, still snowing. Camera of the snow stake is wet but it’s not raining, even at the lodge. Think positive cold snowy thoughts!

Hahah, dude there is rain on the camera lens.. trust me. I want snow. But they got rain up pretty high on the hill today. It will flip to snow tonight. Let’s hope it heals the snow.

Ugh, that camera lens gets wet due to the light. It’s wet heavy snow but those are flakes looking at the top of 2 man.

Schweitzer NOAA is calling for 3-7 with a low of 16 and some wind. It's going to be pretty sucky down low. Hopefully the groomers will work out the main runs but off piste down low will be heinous. Time to think about some sun and spring conditions, at least for the time being. I'm going up Thur-Sun when there's forecasted sunshine.

I don't claim to be any good at guessing density at a glance, but that sure looks more fluffier than 29%. How do we puff this stuff up to the 3' it shoulda been??

Whoever said Granite Peak was a slog was dead on. The skiing was good but for my first tour in a year it was a loooong one.

Bluebird at Silver right now. North facing stuff, esp in the trees, skiing great. Finding some of the goods! Empty too in spite of it being spring break

That was me. Props to getting out there though! Hoping you used a sled? You’ll be shocked how easily accessible it is here in a couple weeks.

Awesome! I was playing in the snow with my 2yo when you guys were gearing up. It was my turn to hang with the baby while my groms and wife were out skiing.

    Congrats to all!
