Don't you people have jobs?!?! Between my buddies at Schweitzer posting up their bluebird powder day shots and this, I'm starting to wonder what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Mt Spokane was fun. Backside was still a go! Park jumps were fun too although I only went through it twice.
Snow is definitely getting stickier... took couple whiplash style slams because my board would just stop sliding.

I can’t remember for sure but doesn’t 49N has a gate to its side country? Where does that go? Skin back up?

Yeah, grooming this time of year is always suspect when it's sunny spring days and cold nights. Best to not ski until about at least 10:00. The grooming at Schweitzer has been a little funky, too with frozen ridges where the cat sinks in the deteriorating snow and can't smooth it out very well. That's been the case for as long as I remember during the spring. On the other hand, Schweitzer received 8" of new snow over the past 24 hours so it's back to full-on winter, at least for a few days. Spring skiing is fun, just different from earlier in the season.

ive been asking around about that gate ...... its considered part of the nordic trail system, not really a portal to the slackside; two seasons skiing here, ive never seen anyone head out there, never heard anybody say they've been out there; on the other hand, ive chatted with a handful of boarders who say they duck the rope on the SW boundary (lost dutchman/quartz ridge) ride down to a FS road and traverse back to the base of chair 6; thick woods and only approachable at high tide; miss the road and you're fucked .........

Ok so I’m not the only one wondering why I have never even seen a track leaving that gate...

Record seasonal snowfall for Schweitzer this year. 416" as of yesterday, breaking the 98/99 record of 412". And....it ain't over! Nothing but more snow in the forecast through the weekend... Well, a little freezing rain possible, too but still.
