ThatdudewhousedtoliveinLeavenworth covered some ground, but to be fair, if you like a big basin and don't mind fog, crowds or high prices, there's a lot to like about the Schwizz. Lots of intermediate terrain, and while it's pretty flat in most places, they did add a new lift last year with a nice, long downhill segment that really tucks you into the hollow of the hill, which is nice when the wind kicks up.
No new acres, but the lift made possible the world's only uphill black diamond...well, it's not a run, but it is a runout. If you're a strong skater--to be honest, I had to walk out after taking this pic, but I did manage to keep the boards on and that's a useful skill in the foggy basin!
Some people claim the basin is flat, but as 2funky knows anything can be steeper if you skate uphill partway through the run. It's not super efficient, but when the basin closes you'll have plenty of time for turns at Silver, Lookout or 49. So if you decide to brave 95, don't skip the skating--it will have you in good shape for the last month of the season, wherever you decide to go.
Wait, there are actual hikes at Silver and Lookout aren't there? That might work, too, I guess.A woman came up to me and said "I'd like to poison your mind
with wrong ideas that appeal to you, though I am not unkind."

I’m leaning toward pulling the trigger on a Silver Mtn pass. Under $1400 for the whole family, plus powder alliance benefits. Sounds like good snow and decent terrain. Not to mention there’s a good chance I’ll be looking at a bike pass up there next summer.

Snowed for like 5 minutes in Sandpoint today, and lots of snow in the forecast for Schwiezz this coming week. Get stoked.

2013/14 Inland PNW thread
I’ll happily guide you two around and look forward to seeing your smiling faces!!
Squats for dayzzz bro! Barely walk or sit to shit Monday and Tuesday. Lol
STOOOOKEDuh!
My only issue is I’ll be rolling very gingerly the first month or two testing the Achilles waters. I’ll happily bring up the rear of the pack for a lil bit. Once I get comfy from testing her out and she feels like she strong, all bets are off....
Ps, love that this thread is still going from 13/14. Lol!

I think its high time to invest in a snowmobile and get after the backcountry near Lookout Pass and North of Sandpoint. Anyone else thinking of this, or better yet anyone willing to show me some spots?
Got all the quintessential training and equipment...for touring, just need to add a sled and a few ripping skiers.Originally Posted by splat,Huckin eh?, and Stroupskier, respectively

you and half the other powhounds, saturdays are gonna be as bad in the easy access zones as it is a the resort.
I bought a split to join my buddy on some brap adventures but don't think I'll afford a sled anytime soon.
in other news, if you thought parking at the swizz was a shit show on weekends, the half finished "boutique" hotel filling the village lot says "hold my beer". RVs get kicked out to the expanded fire station lot and have to use shuttle from there, major suckembrace the gape
