Yeah by the time I got the news about silver pass working at 49 today, my mind was already made up to get some sleep... I thought, if I leave now, I won’t get there till 10:30 on a Saturday with Silver closure, it’ll be a shit show with everything tracked out... my buddy said it was a ghost town there. Damn it. I don’t usually miss a pow day but I sure missed this one.

Schweitzer looking to stay open through 4/12, depending, obviously, on how this thing progresses. Here is their statement from yesterday.
https://www.schweitzer.com/covid-19/
COVID-19 Statement from Tom Chasse, Schweitzer President & CEO
March 15, 2020 Update
The COVID-19 crisis is an evolving situation and at this point, we are taking extensive precautions to protect our guests & staff from the spread of the virus. We hope to continue operating until our closing date of April 12 but please continue to check in with us for updates as this situation progresses.
Here are some other precautionary actions being taken (many of which help limit large gatherings of people):
We are no longer accepting new lodging reservations. (We plan to honor all existing reservations.)
We are no longer selling advance purchase lift tickets or Spring Fling Passes online.
We are removing/limiting seating in large venues like the Lakeview Lodge and Chimney Rock to increase spacing/social distancing
F&B options like the salad bar, breakfast buffet and burrito bar are being closed.
All season-long ski school programs and school group programs are done for the season.
We have canceled all live music in Taps for the remainder of the season.
The Stomp Games Banked Slalom has been canceled.
The annual Season Passholder Appreciation Party has been canceled.
The summit Easter Sunrise Service has been canceled.
Maximum attendance in our Day Care facility will be cut in half.
We will have increased access to cleaning/hygiene products for guest/employee use at all outlets.
The Caribou Room will be open on a daily basis to allow for extra spacing.
All Guest Services interactions will be moving to the outside ticket windows.

I can't blame Schweitzer management for the call of the season. Bummed we couldn't get one more weekend in but fully understand the rationale behind this decision. Live to ski another day...
Just looked and Silver is closed until Friday as they assess procedures for reopening on Friday. I don't see how this works since you ride a flying petri dish to get there.

Tom had been killing it at the foggy basin. Some of the most cogent info I've seen and solid strategy. Time to go get a few last laps. Damn. #Schweitzerclosesearly

^^ yeah, wish I could have gone today. I was thinking yesterday that this could happen but, other obligations were in the way. Hoping my back can support me for some bc laps this spring. If not, mountain bike time.

Silver is done. I think the resorts are scared about people suing them...

Looks like 49 and Lookout are the last hold outs? I wonder how long before they throw in the towels.
