    took a tour today up to 5k at deer creek summit, Ferry county;
    nice corn! started to get soft around 1P, the bottom fell out by 4P;
    dug a pit on NW aspect and found a thin icy layer at 30 cm and a weird,
    soft zone at 60 cm; couldnt get either to react to a deep tap or SST

    Mt. Spokane slush was fun today. Hardly anyone there. I wonder how many more days I got left for this lift served fun...

    Your slush yesterday was my frozen chunder on Tuesday morning. Skinned up and skidded down on rock hard frozen crap. I think they're planning on closing on Easter. Maybe this weekend, though. Schweitzer is open to April 15 with plenty of snow for hiking well into May.

    When is the free week of skiing at 49°? I might have to make a trip over for a couple nights.

    Solid move, hope you found the goods. I had one eye out for orange over black but I'm afraid that in addition to being fairly poor conditions for skating, today was not our best visibility. Between the trees and the thick air and all.

    Mashed several laps in primo conditions and excellent visibility. Vis went iffy so headed for the trees for contrast. Skied several more laps in knee deep goodness. The wind had buffed the mountain from the day before and a full reset was in effect. Vis came back and it was time to mash the throttle again. Today was pretty busy so the place got hit pretty quick. Started on ProTest then as the conditions got cut up I switched to goats. Goats just kill the deep chop. Skied a few laps with Mooseknuckles and friends. Hammered out over 26k of vert by 1:30 and called it a day due to having to pickup my oldest from a friends, wife and youngest are out of town.

    Were you sporting giant green ON3P letters on the bases and an equally large beard on the way up Slow Ghost shortly before leaving? I think my wife and I might have loaded right behind you guys.

    No beard. I only went to slow ghost once. That was enough standing in line for me. That was at about 1030. I was still on ProTest then. Swapped out right after that. I rock a wool camo face gaiter.

    Ah not you then. I believe we only put up with that chair once as well. Didn't expect the quality we found at the northern boundary, but it was pretty hard to put up with the double once we did. It stopped twice in that one ride, of course.

    Pretty sure skiing one on each foot would put a giant tear in the space time continuum.

    I wear purple pants at least 30 or 40 times each year. A hole in the space time continuum does not scare me.

    Were you skiing Friday? At Stella around 2:30 and someone in front of me that I didn't recognize said hi to me. As they went through the gate, noted purple pants and thought to myself, 'Okay, which one of these guys says he wears purple pants?' Now I remember....
