I headed up to Mt. Spokane for opening day this morning. I'm 18 days post-op, five days out from removal of stitches, from some minor ankle surgery (cyst excision) so just wanted to see how the ankle would fair in ski boots. Skiing was really nice with cold temps, beautiful sunshine, nice powder off the sides of the runs, remarkably good coverage for this time of year, and about a gazillion people by about 10:00. I got there at 8:15 and headed to Chair 4 which was reasonably uncrowded but cold. When I went back over to the frontside to warm up a bit, it was a total zoo at 10:30. With that, I called it. On the upside, the ankle did great so, there's that...

Good news about the ankle! SkiLyft and I almost called an audible and went to Mt. Spokane, glad we stayed with our original Silver plan. Silver was really really good.
Pretty sure he’ll do a photo dump later.

Aye
Romeo Tango is real, and he’s spectacular.
The Boognish blessed Mfrees and I were forced to hike Angel Peak thanks to extent of the whole-mountain shralping the BVC boys delivered up in Stevens County.

Because of the shit shows when it was owned by Sowder, we left and I haven't skied there much until last season in the past 30 years. That said, it reminded me of the Sowder days but back then, we'd have snowmobile lot parking, 30+ minute lift lines, and just a general overcrowding even if it was sleeting sideways. At least yesterday, it was opening day and the conditions were excellent. But yeah, parking was full all over the area, nearly to the snowmobile lot by the time I left at 11:00.
One thing I didn't know was that they're restricting the number of day tickets sold. And they were sold out. I saw that sign when I drove up there at 8:15. That was kind of good to know. All said, though, I won't be skiing weekends there for awhile, Wednesdays only, probably.

Been out of town the last couple weekends but stoked to get out there. Looks like a few of you have been to a number of the local resorts. How's coverage? Mainly looking at silver, 49, and Schwitz
