    New Wes Anderson Short

Starring Max Fischer, and set in Italy. What's not to like? (if you like Wes Anderson that is)

I still call it The Jake.

I love the way WES anderson shoots a movie. Rushmore and Royal Tennenbaums are still my two favorites.

New Wes Anderson Movie, the French Dispatch, dropped its trailer today. Looks impeccable.

Because of the consistent symmetry in all his scenes, I often find myself looking for the slightly out of symmetry part, and then momentarily leave the plot of the movie and wonder why he did that.

Is he just paying homage to Toulouse Lautrec?

I think there's something to this.

Look at how his camera moves from scene to scene like you're being moved from a stage play in one room to a stage in the other. And that the "stages" usually look a lot like the artwork or something else in the film.

Tenenbaums does a great job at this. It's like the whole thing was one of Margo's plays.

Oh I definitely love it. It’s just it’s slightly distracting because I’m so aware of it and what the director is doing instead of just the story.

    I think so.
Also, Anderson definitely pays overt homage to Jaques Tati and Hitchcock in The French Dispatch, as well as to The French New Wave and Noir.
