Mammoth Lakes RV park in winter
Anyone here stay at the Mammoth RV park during winter? Pricey at $42ish per night, but has electric hookup (run a space heater for our truck camper), hot showers, and hot tub. Site says there's a shuttle stop to the ski area nearby.

I have stayed there many times.
The showers and bathrooms are really clean and they keep the lot plowed. No info on the shuttle, as I pull my trailer and have my truck for getting to the base. Overall it's a really good option.

^^^Yep, nice place, watch for add ons, the charge per person after two, extra for pets, water, sewer, et all. Pretty typical RV park stuff. There is no shuttle, but the Mammoth shuttle stops about two blocks away (Red line I believe.) Getting on it during holidays can be a challenge since it picks up all along Old Mammoth Rd before it gets to you (just before it turns left up 203.)
If I recall, you are not allowed to use electric heaters, just propane with electricity to power the fan. Nice indoor pool and reasonably nice hot tub, but I haven't stayed there in a few years.

Left my Motor Home there for the season ten years ago. They have an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Cable TV. I always ran my electric heater. Bath room, shower, washer / dryer area was good.
I got my Vans on but they look like sneakers.....

Not saying you can't do it, just that there is/was a rule not to run electric heaters. If everybody ran one it would blow the circuits since they are a huge power draw, or at least I assume that is their reasoning. We had a propane heater with an electric blower when we used to stay there. I don't know how big of an issue it really is, but you might want to check. All in all we liked staying there. The walk to the shuttle stop is not too bad especially if you leave skis in a locker, but that when when the lockers were reasonably priced, not the total rip off they are now.

Just an aside, the reason we started staying there was we were no longer allowed to stay in the June parking lot. That was a great arrangement until the FS got pissy about it. The June management was totally cool with it as long as we stayed on the far side of the lot, and kept the cars/ trailer out of the way of the parking lot plows. I don't know if there has been any change in the policy since the whole June debacle last year.

If you can go without hook ups get a tent site. $28. Space heaters are fucking lame, your camping. I was there last week for opener and it was dead. They dont charge for add ons if you dont cop to it. The kids are all stoners and will gladly bargain, but if you are a whiner like some who posted here you will just pay full tilt. Showers are hotter than anywhere in Mammoth.

It's not camping, it's sleeping in a truck camper, which gets us out of the wind/snow/etc. and provides a warm, dry place to cook/eat/sleep.
For $28 and no heat, I'd just camp out by the hot springs or scenic loop and run the propane heater in the camper. The point of the electric space heater is to use the RV park's electricity, which I expect to be able to do for $42 per night.
