Timely thread bump, my wife was just talking about one of these. I'm really surprised to see mostly positive reviews.

What about Roomba sending interior maps of your house's floorplan to our corporate overlords? It's a floorplan, nothing to really hide, but feels invasive. /privacy

Maybe it's different for the most expensive models, but there's no fucking way my knock-off monoprice vacuum bit is sophisticated enough to map anything. It's also not on our WiFi.

The lower end Roomba doesn't have wifi and still works great.

Not sure why you need wifi on your vacuum unless you want to run it while your gone and forgot to turn it on before you left. They are programmable so you can usually just set it to run automatically at a certain time anyway.

we havea Ecovac DeeBot n79s. Does pretty well even if we don't get all the kid stuff off the floor. Definitely misses things but it makes difference and lowers how often we bust out the dyson.

Any of you users have significant flooring transitions between hard floors and fat fuzzy rugs?

Bump after 4 years to see if a Roomba, eufy Robovac, Roborock, etc. are worth it and which too choose for hardwood floors transitioning to Turkish carpets.

We have an OKP Life K2. He showed up at X-Mas last year. His name his Pete. He does an OK job on our mostly hardwood. He does tend to get stuck on higher-pile rugs and stuck under the bed etc...he's fun to watch for a bit. He has a tendency to run himself into certain corners/bottlenecks over and over and over and over again.
