Looking for cheap 182-196 GS skis
Hey there, I am studying here in the US for a year and want to get the best of the slopes. I am looking for 182-196 good condition GS skis with sandwich construction and a METAL LAMINATE (I called it plate). I dont need race bindings, but they should be, at minimum, up to 12 DIN. Older types are not bad, as long as the ski wasnt used a long time for training or there is no edge left or the edges look like steak knives. Willing to pay around $150 (shipping included). I live in Utah.

You might have better luck over at Epicski.com more, racers over there but your $150 shipped will be tough even there. Currently ScotsSkier has some current GS race skis, his listing is the second one down under "The Annual ScotsSkier Closet Clearance".

Are you looking for race-stock, or would you accept a "cheater" in that length?
Also, is the metal plate a requirement? Alot of full-on GS skis have what is technically a plastic plate.

Got a pair of 182 Dynastar Speed 66 in perfect shape. Look world cup binders and that price would work. Let me know if you're interested. Just PM me.
Sent from my GT-P3113 using TGR ForumsFive minutes into the drive and you're already driving me crazy...

Rob: I follow that forum aswell, and I know about ScotsSkier - the racetigers look amazing, but I am here only for a year and I am not sure I will have chance to sell tham after season. (I already have 4 pairs of skis back home)
GP: I accept any skis that are torsionally like a stone. I mentioned the metal plate just because I have exceptional experiences with this kind of skis and dont remember how did my old Beta racers with 2 titanium rods felt like. I have never heard of plastic plate, is that a no metal ski?

A marker piston plate is mostly aluminum. Pre-2011 blizzards had a plate made of a synthetic plastic, with an aluminum X-lock between the plastic pieces.
HEAD's RDX plate looks to be plastic.
But all of these skis have metal laminates.

GP: Oh, I just realized that metal laminate is the proper way how to call the layer below and above the core, not metal plate. I care only about the metal top sheet, binding plates are not so important.
OldSchool: Your skis look very nice, but the core shots - thats too much. Thanks anyway for the offer.

Maurodon those Rossignols look pretty good to me, especially for $150, you could ski them for the year and sell them for $100 when you leave, don't think you will do much better than that!

Well to be honest, I got like 6 offers so far and all of them are worth considering and it is hard to pick! Also, skis with core shots are harder to sell (I am not sure about the bindings).
