JET9 RDO - what's like it...but cheaper?
Let's say you went to Mtn bike jamboree in your 'hood.
Let's also say you demo'd the Jet9 RDO ...and when you did, the rays came from heaven and you back-flipped like Jake Blues listening to James Brown sing gospel.
Let's add that you're poor as fuck.
Is it just the RDO? Is it the Niner suspension design?
What other bikes might be similar, but are lower on price...by a couple grand?
Note: really liked Salsa Spearfish, didn't really like Horsethief, really like Tallboy, RIP9 was cool...
But the JET was PERFECT...best bike I've ridden. It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

This seems like an obvious and easy answer so maybe I'm missing something but how about the normal Jet 9? Very similar to the RDO but less plastic and less $.

Not interested in RIP9. Thought about metal JET...but, I'm a bit gun-shy of Niner AL frames.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

kona hei hei carbon. either model. I sell both santa cruz and kona and have ridden many of them.
the kona is a real sleeper. like it much better than the tallboy carbon and its vpp suspension platform.

I hate to be a dick but,
dozens and dozens of bikes have come out in the past 5 years that kick ass and many of them can be found used for <$2000 complete builds. If you're poor as fuck, even that investment is a stretch though many would argue that it's the price of admission to take advantage of what modern biking has to offer for anyone wanting to spend much time and energy in the sport. Looking at carbon boutique brand bikes is a luxury of the highest order. Own it or change your tune.
