Annoying talking bar on my Macbook Pro
I let my seven month old boy tap on my laptop's keyboard for a few seconds today. He seems really attracted to the bright display and the keyboard and I thought it was kind of cute. Now I have an oval window open on my screen at all times with a written description of whatever the screen is displaying. The mechanical voice of the computer also reads the text in the bar. It is annoying as hell. My question is, what is this setting and how do I turn it off? My boy can't talk yet, so I can't ask him what he did

Either:
Hold 'command' + 'F5' (this does the same thing as the option below)
or
Go to the apple in the upper left > System Preferences > Universal Access > set VoiceOver to Off.
Your son probably hit 'command' + 'fn' + 'F5', if you were curious.

Thanks for the reply and information. I did a forced shut down, and when the machine turned back on, I had the option of Turning on or off "Voice Over".
