    Where should I mount?

    Hey guys,
I have some 2012 k2 recoils and the bindings are mounted at 1 cm forward. I was thinking around 3-5 cm forward, because I want extra control in the air, and for riding switch. I also like being able to carve pretty well which I know is one thing you sacrifice when mounting 3cm or more forward. I am thinking 3-4 cm forward but i am unsure. I need opinions

Newschoolers.com is the place to ask about jibby/ park mounts. This place is full of skinny dentists who ski in the "backcountry" and memorize the ramp angle of all the different tech bindings and fat dentists who ride 120+ waisted, 190+ long skis in an attempt to convince themselves they're not fat and old.

I know, but the thing is, I'm not much of park rider, I would say I ride more on groomer, steeps, but I like jumps and landing switch too so

If they're at 1cm forward, just leave them there.

    Ski them first.

A day or two on them, skiing the way you want to will give you a good idea of where you want to mount them. +1 may be perfect, if not it will give you a good reference point.

No use putting more holes in them if you don't need to.

All modern skis are set up to be mounted on the line for normal skiing and 3.6 cm forward for spinning. 7.2 cm forward if you like to spin fast. Fact

^ all of these guys are fooking with you. Those bindings need to be moved at least 2 cm back if you want to have any hope of holding an edge. You can wait to ski them if you think that I'm wrong, but then you'll lose a day of skiing. Your choice.

The skis I skied last year were mounted at 3cm forward, and they were like 6 inches shorter. This year I'm stepping up to bigger skis(the recoils) and they are at 1 cm forward, which I don't think will be good for me, because I ride switch and I like spinning. I also want to be able to carve down groomers too. Last year when I used my other skis they were mounted farther center than the ones I had the previous year. The first times I went down groomers it felt really strange because I couldn't hold a very good edge. I then got used to it and I like where they were mounted. I have marker griffons on my recoils. I can move them 3 cm up or 3 cm back when they are mounted. Right now at 1 cm they are all the way forward. I am thinking of having them mounted at 2 cm forward with the binding in the center, so then I can move them all the way up to 5 cm, or down to 1 cm back. Sorry for writing a book lol

Ski them. You can't compare them to the skis you had last year. See how they work for you, rinse, repeat.

Is K2's scale still off by -2cms to keep dorks from mounting them true center? If so, +1 is like -7 or -8 from true center, which is perfect.

    Or rather about -5. Whatever.
If you really don't have a clue, which I don't think you do, you should mount them at the damn ski shop.
