Toured over to snow lake today at snoqualmie. The rain/snice at the parking lot turned to snow pretty quickly. Good skin track out to source lake basin. Great coverage, actually winter at proper elevation. Did a few laps on protected, treed slopes down to snow lake. Heavy pow but still soft and fun. Snowing hard all day up there. Despite high avalanche forecast we did not see any major instability. Some pinwheeling from tracks, and a few small sloughs off of the cliffs above the basin were it.
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

Glad to here things are looking good up North. Flying into Bellingham on Sunday night. Have a rental car and a hotel the first night but nothing beyond that. Where would you guys suggest skiing? We've really just been considering Baker with maybe a day at Stevens. Anything special with this storm/season/etc to consider? Keep the reports coming.

Blustery night in B lot... camper was rocking sans wifey. Summit station shows max gusts of 110mph. Rained almost an inch, too. Hope the temps drop as predicted.

Pretty burly storm for much of the West.

    Edit to add:

Patrol dispatch says entire upper mountain shut down today.

Has to be. We left around 7 and still dumping (heavy) snow. No rain.

On a side note, Rico's take out is the fucking slam.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Snoqualmie just sent an email to employees that they are opening for full operations on Monday (day and night). It is officially on!
