Same reason why we tell people not to move to Seattle. It rains ALL THE TIME! Coming from California, Colorado, and Texas (do people actually leave Texas for Washington?) you will be miserable and cold and wet because it is against the law to use an umbrella.
Back to the thread, I have never seen rain at Baker, but I never lived in Bellingham. My sample size isn’t enormous. I also ski in the rain.Someone once told me that I ski like a Scandinavian angel.

I'd take more Texans over Californians.

I've had a few really fun rainy days at Baker. Rubber outerwear, dawn soap, and your shittiest pair of goggles. Almost like a powder day, but with no one around.

Said one maggot to another maggot - "It's actually skiing pretty good", says mag 1. "Yeah, seems to be the right amount of rain", replies mag 2.

On the one hand, a Texan won't condescendingly tell you 3 times in a conversation about what aspect of california is better than where you are currently, but on the other hand, you will probably be talking to that texan while hes open-carrying, marveling about them there big hill country mountains and dodging dip spit. there are plusses and minuses to each.

I'd much prefer the later. The Texan at least remembers what home is and will hopefully move back home at some point. The Californian will simply strive to create the same thing he left and ruin things for the locals.
Also, to be factually correct, open carry up until recently was illegal in Texas. Open Carry has been legal in Washington since the formation of our state. So the Texan would actually be admiring our legally Open Carried firearm.
