last season the road that takes you close to the north sister was closed because of a fire that happened in 2012.

    is it open now?

forgive my speaking out of place i just love that backside and the big trees. but i did have to do a bit of traversing. i've never been much of a jumper. i practice in the park area at meadows from time to time but whenever it comes to NEEDING to jump something i always eat it. until yesterday! came booking around a corner in the trees under the bowls and what do i find but a log about two foot high plus snow and not only did i clear it but i stuck the landing! yay me. i spent a lot of time playing in the wind blown stuff between trees and jumping off stuff and hit one and landed it about 10' vertical and stuck it and rode it home!

i realize that's not very impressive to most but just like it took me a while to get comfortable with speed it's taken me a while to get comfortable with jumping. took a pretty good beating on thursday. friday my knee felt better and i'm less worried now than i was friday night.

i'm such a stupid fucker. i got three wake up calls and still couldn't get up on time. i got there at 10ish and the small lot was full so they sent me to the main lot and cars were getting stuck on the icy lanes. i had no idea that many people would show up on a friday.

Saturday was one to remember in Central Oregon. Snow stayed great all day on the N-NE aspects and stability was good.

These shots are badass. Particularly 1st and 3rd.

You're welcome. Spent this amazing PNW cycle in the San Juans skiing dust on crust for the most part. Got one hall pass to Silverton though...
