it definitely dipped below freezing at squaw last night...

although like you said, it really doesn't need to hit 32 for the snow to freeze.

it doesn't even have to get close for the snow to be fun!
    Still waiting...

It was on Thurs. Couldnt believe how soft it was for being the 4th or 5th day in a row of 60 degree temps. Also hit the same area Tues though and snow was significantly better. Every day seems to be taking a big toll.

Dont know what actual temps ended up being but lows were forecasted in upper 30's while I was in town. Things were still frozen in the early morning for those concerned about that.

Jetlag, great turns. Can't figure out where that was though.

Tamarack skied great on the east face early this morning. I imagine it didn't take long to get pretty ugly though. It was a warm one. The sun this week did a number on the snowpack. Plenty of sharks out there. Left with a pretty good scar on one of my skis.

Thanks Rod. I'm not from the area and don't want to burn anyone so I won't be too specific but it's South of the lake. Steepish NE face around 10k ft.

Went up Houghton this morning. Perfect corn just below the summit down to Galena Ck. However, the NE aspects off tamarack were still crusty as all hell at about noon - there were 30-40mph winds across the ridgeline keeping things nice and locked up.

Oh, and a couple beta shots taken on my potato. Rose is totally spent, but still good stuff in the Relay zone.

Fuck yeah. I was poking around TC with my son this mornings, and it felt perfect out. Knew there was some ripe corn out there. Looks like fun. Tonight looks like a nice solid freeze around here. Gonna take him to chair 3 tomorrow. Movin on up as he hill closes down.

I've got 3 days of unlimited freedom Friday - Sunday. Default is Kirkwood sidecountry but debating Tioga, Sonora, Sisters, Angora Peak. Just looking to do something different.

Halls done? Wondering if it's worth it to do a jaunt for some chutey fun (snow quality need not apply). Gate open? Otherwise I'm thinking Sonora Pass Saturday or Sunday if open.

Yes Halls is done, and yes the gate is open, went back that way today to watch the snow melt after skiing out around Carson which got a solid freeze last night.

ID:	154252 played in the Donner/Judah/ASI area today. Quite fun, very supportable snow, by noon on E aspects there was 5-6in of soft wet on top of crust. N aspect on the way out got slow and heavy at 2pm. Same aspect was very firm on the way up.

Unfortunately not going to make it to Tahoe this week. I've got a free Mt Rose voucher and a 2 for 1 Kirkwood voucher that I'm not going to be able to use. PM me and I'll mail ASAP.

Anyone finding good snow/coverage in the BC lately? Have time for a quick tour tomorrow morning. Was thinking Rose area for convenience but maybe I'll find better conditions south of the lake?
