Basinbeater showed me Tortas Y Jugos El Morelense and Mi Carmelo, both are great. Tortas Y Jugos El Morelense has Al Pastor tacos spit-style with pineapple.

Mi carmelo or Tacos y jugos are your two options for the best, in my opinion.

Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Mexican food on the east coast is across the board average. There are some decent places but nothing that hits close to the ubiquitous taco & burrito delights during my years in SoCal, CO, and UT
Just sent a local Ecuadorian friend to Red Iguana when he was there for work and blew his mind

Excepting the rare hidden gem, this is the truth.
Some are better than others, and I do love the good ones. You don't go to these places for authentic, you go because it's a lot of tasty food for cheap, it's fast, the kids love it, and most importantly, they have the coldest, cheapest beer in the land. $3 "happy hour" Pacifico 22s served in mugs so cold that the top inch of beer is in slushy form. I use quotes because it seems like it's never NOT happy hour. Damn do I miss Red Iguana, though.

this is also why I get angry when anyone in Utah talks about Lonestar Tacorea
thats the shit we have here and there are so many better places in UT
I would eat @ La Frontera for a month every night before Lonestar once

My wife brought a couple of kilos of mole negro paste home from Oaxaca a couple of weeks ago and it's seriously on par with RI. And holy shit, the little lunch counters in the market there, you can get any mole you want smothered over a chicken thigh, with beans, rice and a beer for less than $4 usd. But I digress....
