If I make it out your way in 10 days or so, I'm gonna be bumping this everytime I'm hungry and sharing my live location.

Taqueria el Gallo loco pictures looked good today but it was closed. Maybe next time I head south....
Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

tacos mi carmlo owner was arrested (last week) in that murder/disapearance case out of kearns, along with her son. Hopefully doesn't mean the end of the best al pastor in the valley.
@schindler - food in santa barbara is shockingly bad for how great the growing weather is, along with wine country culture

Seeking recommendations for an Anniversary dinner with my parents. I was hoping for the Aerie because they honeymooned at the Cliff, but it is closed.
Challenges:
The only night we can make it work is a Monday (I'll be in town from WA) and a lot of the finer restaurants appear to be closed for FHE.
Their palate is a bit on the simple side: surf (well done) and turf (medium) are safe bets.
Don't care about the bar or wine list.
Location: Based in Cottonwood Heights, but willing to drive if necessary. Maybe Log Haven?

FYI, it's Mi Quang weekend at Saigon.

Log Haven is 10/10 for ambience but realistically more like 8/10 for food. Not a bad choice by any stretch, but we both felt like the ambience is what made it special, not the food.
Our fancy dinner go-to's:
SLC Eatery
HSL
Table X (!!!)
Current/Undercurrent
Hope that helps

Might not be what you're looking for, but the food is excellent. Worth checking out the menu if you were considering the Aerie. Lots of options that aren't raw fish.

SLC eatery is our recent nice restaurant go-to. Fun atmosphere, great service, great food. Did mint recently actually, and it was pretty good. I know this is pretty skidoggy, but i'd call it "slc great", not "great".

Harbor has always registered high for some of my friends, their parents, and some of my older friends. Lots of good reviews.

Heh. If it's great by SLC standards does that make it a Sandy 11? I suppose that's fair. It's been a long time since I ate at Takashi and we're too old and lame to go downtown these days. I think the food is more unique and interesting than Tsunami, and I like the atmosphere and setting a lot more.
Guaranteed mediocrity FTW!
