For Sandy sushi, Mint >> Tsunami. The small plates menu at Mint is the shit. No ramen though.

in skidog's defense I do want to say I don't think caputos is great like all you utards are saying. I have no need for avant garde chocolates and cheeses though.

Especially from the perfect perch high above everyone else in New York, that is where you really develop the 20/20 Utah clarity.

Caputos is great cause it's the only game in town. The other option is to not have access to avant garde chocolate and cheeses, something very few of us can live with.
One day* I'll make huge $$$ from my current company and will finally get into the fine foods import business. I will CRUSH these guys.

It's been around a while, I'd say 4-5 years. Was called Blue Marlin for the first couple of years and then they renamed to Mint. I've plugged it a few times in this thread. I have always dined in but I assume they do takeout. Sam eats the shit out of the potstickers and they're pretty cheap.

btw ramen from Kobe was great. Did tonkatsu and shoyu, can't really pick a favorite. Sushi rolls I'd classify in the same quality level as sushi groove personally, but I'm no expert.

SLC Eatery if you want fancy takeout
Spitz if you want cheap mediterranean street food
Afghan Kitchen for dank Afghani food
Kobe (mentioned above) for great sushi and ramen
Pretty Bird for amazing chicken sandwiches

None of those are in the University area proper but they're all like 5-10 minutes away

Thanks! Live pretty bird but I think that’s gonna be lunch tomorrow. Afghan Kitchen is closed today.

Never heard of Spitz before - Looks great.

I think we are gonna do Spitz, Kobe or Moms Kitchen.

^ +1 those, if you’re wanting to stay closer by there’s porcupine but it’s nothing to write home about. I’d drive at least to the spitz/pretty bird environs. personally I love red rock and they do takeout very well.

but it is very close to the U, which is was the sole listed criteria in the op so... also it’s fine, not cafeteria food. unexciting and overpriced but will do in a pinch and be alright.

Porcupine is no more in that location. Rio Grande cafe moved from downtown. Food is....fine

Porcupine owns Rio Grande. The U porc wasn't doing very well so they decided to see how a mexi place would do there.
