We started with weaker 11s than we finished games with throughout the tournament.

Equalled chasing too many games, two games with extra time, a shootout.

Bellingham over ran and underperformed. Playing him and Kane together just doesn't seem to work for either of them.

Damn good final for Euro2024. That 89th minute save off the line? Ooof.

Anyways, CopaAmerica is a fucking shitshow and whomever is running the stadiums needs to be alongside Greg Berhalter in a McDonalds asking people if they want frys.

This COPA match is exhausting. You can just feel how tired they are. Hated to see Messi exit. That shot of his swollen ankle looked nasty.

Hard Rock is hosting 7 World Cup matches let’s hope they figure their shit out (and really, the fans too, where fault actually lies) before then.

Well, Conmebol won't be in charge of those games, so chances are good it will run just like every other normal sporting event does there.
That said, I'll be going to ATL games. Miami is a nightmare and the hotel price gauging will be redonculous.

Nice. It will be a vastly better stadium experience I can assure you of that. Long ways off but give a heads up when you do and we can grab a beer.

Agreed. And it should be a good match - the BRA/ESP game was pretty exciting to watch.

Apparently Fox didn't check in with their crack sports team analyst Lalas before posting this one

Madrid beat Atalanta in the Eufa Supercup. The goals came from Valverde (a tap in set up by a great move by Vini) and Mbappe (a nice finish set up by a good ball by Bellingham). Madrid looked a bit shaky in the first half playing a 4-3-3 without Toni Kroos (they played a 4-4-2- last year), but they got it rolling after half time and the sheer weight of the attacking talent came through.

9 from 3 on pace forcan unprecedented 5 in a row with their super squad. Meanwhile we sell our favourite Scot to meet FFP rules

Very stoked with the Pochettino hire. I think he was the best realistic option we could have hoped for. Perhaps we get out of the group stage and win one? (Perhaps)

Might as well start a general Footy/Soccer thread

Crazy City - Arsenal game. Fuck, City should have gone down. And apparently Haaland can whip the ball off an opponent’s head and not get a yellow. Da fuck?

That ATL UTD - Inter Miami deciding game 3 last night was one of the best MLS matches I’ve ever seen.

From selling off their 3 best players to Europe, firing their manager and then needing all kinds of help to just make the play-in tournament stage then to eliminating the #1 seed and Messi on their home turf, this team is playing with some serious magic right now.

    Good luck! That’s awesome.

As a first year as head HS soccer coach, my son’s team got knocked out in the quarters. Pretty cool, especially since they weren’t expected to even qualify at the start of the season. The up and comers all have better ball skills, soccer IQs and passion, largely due to his club coaching when they were younger. One tactic was to get each kid to identify with a pro player and have them watch games and get a foot on a ball, often.

Finished the season as state champs. Along the postseason way, the team beat the 5th ranked team in the country. And so ends my involvement with High School sports.

The Constitution State. The Nutmeg State. The first arsenal of democracy. The glorious state of Connecticut!
