py character development, the whole first half was useless attempt at it there wasn't any kind of heated rivalry. The race scenes were terrible, they should show some cars driving fast and then flash on the screen who won, no "rubbins racing" a la Days of Thunder. Nothing about the cars or strategy behind racing, no rivalries.
I'm really lost at the reviews because I couldn't stand the first 45 minutes or so. It got watchable towards the end but too late.
I just thought it was pretty terrible.

Is Gravity as good as the critics are making it out to be? I usually detest critics as they tend to like movies that are, IMO, boring. However, it sounds like every one of them is liking this movie.

All of my friends who are published/working film critics are raving about it.
Apparently James Cameron (not a critic, mind you) is hailing it as "the best space film ever..."
I've been on the fence about it due to the casting, but then I saw the latest trailer in IMAX 3-D and it's pretty intense (the trailer I saw used no sound, creating this auditory void which only added to the intensity).

Saw rush the other night. I liked it.
I think the rivalry started strong, but got a little glossed over as the movie progressed and focused more on the respect the competitors had for each other. Some good humor and a couple funny lines in the movie.

Saw Gravity in IMAX 3D. It's probably the most intense movie I've seen in a while, I felt like I needed Xanax watching it. Kind of like Open Water but in deep space with amazing effects. I recommend it.

Saw Gravity in 3D (sans IMAX) and it was indeed a rush. I'm not a big 3D fan (gimicky), but it was very effective and well-done here. Highly recommend, even though George Clooney seemed to play the same thing George Clooney played the last time George Clooney played someone.

I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Could not get past the major flaws with orbital mechanics and physics to enjoy Gravity. If you are a space buff, it was a disappointment.
Education must be the answer, we've tried ignorance and it doesn't work!

Ender's Game: best not to have read the book recently (as usual), but since I preferred the later books in the series (no silly children) and had low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. I think if you haven't read the book at all, however, it would be a little too abrupt and limited in character development.

Bad Grandpa was funny.
A different take on the Jackass movies but still great.
4 thumbs up.

Just saw Captain Phillips. Holy shit that movie is white knuckle tense. Great portrayal of everybody just doing their job whether they are a freighter captain, a Somali pirate, or a navy seal and all colliding because of circumstances of globalization.

I thought American Hustle was just ok. It definitely was about 30 minutes too long. I felt the plot was done before the movie. But then again, I hate going to the theater, so maybe I was just antsy. And I couldn't get passed thinking Christian Bale was doing Tom Cruise's Les Grossman character from Tropical Thunder.

Saw gravity and did not like. It's basically just 2 hours of sandra bullock hyperventilating.
