Basically. Except with a million inch screen and way better sound system than I have (for now). Those big comfy leather reclining seats were the bomb too! Plus at home, we don't have waiters to bring us popcorn and beverages. Well, not til the kids are older at least and I can make them fetch me cold ones from the fridge. Haha.

The Grey Fox is being re-released in limited streaming ahead of the DVD. The director was a Coppola assistant. Fined in Canada the scenery and music alone are worth it.

Here are the guidelines for theaters reopening:
https://www.movieranker.com/articles...BZW702BgCfM1PQ
I got an email from the local, independent theater in Tahoe City explaining that they would be opening after removing 75% of their seating.
In Reno none of the chains (Century/Cinemark and Galaxy) are open nor have they posted any info on if/when they plan to open.
Conversely, a small chain which owns theaters in Truckee, Incline Village, Reno, and Carson City, has opened the Reno and IV locations. They have not posted any info on safety measures at the open theaters, although somewhat ironically, the closed theater's websites say they are closed for the safety of the staff and patrons.
It is gonna be interesting to watch the re-openjng of movie theaters for sure...

To be fair, you all went to the theater and saw a third run film that had already run its course last summer (presuming it was Secret Lives Of Pets 2, a movie that was close to a year old, a film that was easily and readily available on VOD, streaming and Redbox); i.e. a film without a terribly big draw.
I imagine the situation to be a bit different with high profile, first run films such as Tenet, Wonder Woman 1984, Mulan, and No Time To Die... films that a larger percent of the population might want to see in a theater on a big screen.

Sorry. Should've added a winkey face to my post or something. Was just being facetious. Haha.

So our little local theater is obviously struggling. They started offering a private screening option, so my wife bought me one. 10 people total, I pick the movie.
Right away, I'm thinking Big Lebowski, or Dr. Strangelove, maybe Fifth Element. It'll be my family of 3, (daughter 21), and a family of 4, (kids are 14), and 3 adults.
What movie should it be?Well maybe I'm the faggot America

That sounds cool.
So, is it 10 random people total or just 10 from your group (are they gonna sell tix to other parties so that you will be in a room with people other than your family)?
Can you pick any film or do they have a specific list to choose from?
Our local cinema removed 70 seats so now they only have 30 seats. But they recently sent out an email showing the new layout and the 30 seats they now have are all grouped together in bunches of 5, which is confusing to me, the single person moviegoer. Like will they make me sit next to a group of folks I don't know if they sell out? Not sure how that works or why they grouped the seats like that.

I answered in your quote.
In Washington, maximum group at a restaurant is five so that’s probably why they have the five grouping. If a group of eight comes, most restaurants try to put the five next to the three for example.
It’s a small place:

Hmmm... Maybe “Groove Requiem” or “Blizzard of Aaaaahhhhss”
Maybe an old classic like “Some like it hot” or “Singing in the rain” or “North by Northwest”Last edited by plugboots; 07-03-2020 at 12:05 AM.
