Looking for a large fatty for my son, so he and his dog can join us?
Like to keep it well under $1000.
Not opposed to used, Bikes Direct or any others?

I just picked up a diamondback el oso grande for ~$750 with their corp discount and coupon code 'save5'. Even came with a torque wrench and legit flat pedals. Only two rides on it in tricky snow but it seems fun and I don't know that anything from bikes direct or elsewhere is priced better. The cheap foam grips seem to be the only truly weak part of the build and thats about as easy to remedy as anything

That exactly what I’m looking for. But without the Corp discount, it’s above my price point.

Moosebicycle.com $849, $1299. Prices include shipping and are in Canadian pesos. I've got a 2 year old version of the 1299 one. Works great.

Just pulled the trigger on a Bikesdirect Motobecane Lurch. Tough to beat the parts spec for the dough and I can’t say no to a steel frame.
Just gotta explain to my wife what’s in the giant box when it shows up.

I ended up getting him the BD Boris GX.
Put it together last night. Only the really cheap pedals will get replaced right away.

Are you fat? Do you like it? What would you do different next time?
Packaging: Good
Assembly: Fair
Quality/Value: Not quite as nice as my first Pugsley, but a third of the price.
Jr’s birthday was last week. He and the girlfriend have a really nice 9 month old Aussie, that needs a LOT of exercise.
We took the dogs up Independence today and it was just what the doctor ordered.

I've never had such a hard time breaking a tire bead as on my Beargrease. I had to step on the tire to get it to go. Since it was such a bitch getting on and off I decided to pull the core and throw stans in the tube because I don't want to be dealing with a flat in the cold weather. Too lazy and not enough time to set up tubless. ...on the to-do list.

FYI, the guys at my LBS told me they typically have to stand on the tire to get it off as well.

Yeah, it works really well. Rog showed me this trick years ago. Last time I did it, when the tube finally let go, there must have been 4-5 small punctures in the tube that had been sealed with stans and kept me going.
The added weight sucks, but I can deal with that in lieu of dealing with flats. I don't dump that much in there, just the right amount...whatever the hell that is. Highly scientific

Those look like mulefuts. I had to do the same with mine when I was converting TO tubeless. Haven't thought about the difficulty of getting the tire off the rim post sealant...
