    Going to the far left of the dial, one of my favorite bands to dabble in country tinged soniference has been Dieselhed.
    While defunct at this point, they released a number of albums that stretch the boundaries of what one would call "country music".
    Slightly avant garde, they really slipped into what could be called a "traditional" country vibe for their 1999 album Elephant Rest Home, which I consider to be a modern classic.

    Wow, if you took the steel pedal guitar out of that, it would actually be a good song. Also maybe speed up the tempo.

    Country music is all and all pretty fucking terrible in every way.
