Paul Cauthen puts on a hell of a show. I’ve never seen people dancing at a country show quite like that. His band is super tight and makes it super funky.

I’m real excited for Sturgill to come out with this bluegrass album.

Are you posting about Dale because he was buddies with Billy Joe and wrote 'Where do you want it' or was that just a coincidence?

Ha, no. I've seen Dale many times in small ATX venues and just like his whole schtick.

    Bobby Bare- Shel Silverstein's troubadour
    Tom T Hall- faster horses
Buck Owens- he bridged the Bob Wills sound to the modern county IMO
Merle Haggard of course, the king of country
New Riders of the Purple Sage- cuz I like the Dead too
Jerry Reed, one of the best guitarist ever
Statler Brother- I always picture a 70's coke party
Townes Van Zandt, not really country, more folk but IMO the best songwriter to ever live
lets not forget Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton

Vol I and Vol II of Sturgill's two volume bluegrass albums are out, Vol. II dropped at midnight. Cut a bunch of his prior tracks and some others. Killer players on here, Sierra Hull, Stuart Duncan, Tim O'Brien, Sturgill's drummer Miles fills in on the kit. Its really good.

Asleep at the wheel, tribute to the music of Bob Wills is a good collection of Bob Wills music with guest artists from Dolly, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Brooks & Dunne, Chet Atkins, Lyle Lovett, Huey Lewis, Willie Nelson, more. Did not care for country until I found this but I actually like this compilation. Solid band with a long list of albums.
