You might ask Big E, he bought Mini Gadget's El Cuervo.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

I will be the first to admit that I don't have time on any other DH bikes, so I can't compare it to others out there, but so far Mini Gadget's old steed has served me well. It definitely ain't light (Mani_UT - 38 lbs? Wow, mine's like 42!), and you should banish any thoughts of pedaling it anywhere, but I find it to be both super plush and super burly. I was riding last year at Showshoe coming up to a trail crossing and the front tire threw a seemingly healthy-size rock into the downtube. This was heard by everyone (none of whom I knew) hanging out at the trail crossing, and I got a few "you okay? You better check the bike!" Without even looking, I was like "yeah, it's fine" and continued on. Checked at the bottom, and indeed, there was no evidence of such a hit.
Anyway, I was looking for a reasonably inexpensive DH bike so I wouldn't be forced to either rent at an outrageous price, or abuse my trail bike, and thus far it has worked perfectly for that.
