Cossatot river, Arkansas. First attempt at small mouth fishing.

first ever smallie was a monster

    started getting bigger

    which meant good eating

    followed by good cigars

On down to the texas hill country

this guy was a bit overzealous

Not the same bass you're talking about but they are bass. Caught about two weeks ago in the waters off NYC.

    Bucketman ftw!

Got out for a few hours last weekend, nothing worthy of pics but good to catch a few. Maybe meet up this weekend, WL (aka snake pond) possibly?

Yes, that's a possibility. Have not been out there yet - as you know, best without a lot of wind, especially if it's coming out of the North. LMK if you decide to head South. Still have not seen them on their beds?!

Winds look pretty tame both days at this point, most likely Sunday but I'll let you know. Warming temps should have them bedded sometime very soon I would guess. The ones I caught were still in "deeper" water suspended just over cover but that's typical on SP.

Have actually been catching them pretty shallow meself.

Sunday is a no go for the Bottles - decided to use a jumponit deal and going to fishing Magog with Cap'n Dave. http://www.nekbass.com/ Pretty stoked!

Things are heating up Bottle, here is the biggest of last week's catches while on vaca in the nek. A handful of decent smallies and a few good sized pickerel but this was by far the most photo worthy.

You want to catch 10lb+ lakers, musky, and pike. Go with captain mick on Champlain. He routinely has 100 fish days. All studs.

No furball tossers allowed in this thread ;-)! I do miss muskie fishing on the good ol' Delaware, such an underrated fishery.

Ha! The second you catch a large bass on one of my fairy wands you will be hooked. Spin fishing is Sin fishing. Doesn't even count in my book, but thats just me. Let me know when you want to get out. Anytime dude!

And Mick puts some righteous bass in the boat as well. Lots of 5-8 lb SMB and LMB.

Here is a deer hair frog popper fish for you Fussy, from this weekend.

and another on an articulated sculpin

We'll see about that...nice fish regardless.

Maybe next week, need an excuse to head that way for a burger barn visit anyway. Green River is in the plans soon.

We have been doing the green river. Favorite place to paddle and fish and I work 15 min from there now. If you head this way let me know. Hooked a huge bow fin in arrow head yesterday. Had no idea they were in there, another good spot that is closer for you .

    Good beta.^

I have been eyeing Arrowhead since last year when I drove by on my way to the Lamoille, looks very fishy.

I'm currently landlocked, left the canoe home. Ever fished from the causeway? I figure that's my best bet for land lobbing.

Arrowhead is great pike, wall eye and smallies also. You can get up to 5 rapids in the lamoille also from the mouth of the lake. Great small mouth and wall eye territory and super easy to fish from the Rocky points there.

The causeway has bowfin, carp, pike and bass. Gets traffic but plenty of fish. Swanton area is the best warm water fishing I know of. Maquam if you load at tabor point, bay holds lots of massive gar and all of the above species I listed. Have seen lots of 3-4 foot gar patrolling. Tough to hook, rope streamers work best
