2012-2013 Euro Season Review (Western CH Edition)

What a season. Best in 28 years according to reports. So much pow. Not enough time off.

Here are some highlights of 2012-2013 in Western CH and the area.

    Music by Method Man

    Early December...3...2...1...dropping

    Geo039 killing it Leysin

    KKrizzknuckles

    Tamster

Skiing the road back to the lift first day of the season

    Chandlin with Incompetent Boob

    Zinal time!

    Solo day in Vicheres

Another pow day...Les Marecottes with Geo039

It's not a euro TR without food

    And a view...Vicheres again

Things got a little windripped at New Years so we had to do other things in La Fouly

    And drinking of course

January rolls in, Happy New Year!

Glacier3000 pow day. Never so early in the Combe.

    My buddy McLovin hittin' frontside

Pretty damn stoked on Jan 2

Verbier, Mont Fort Backside with Tamster, BobinCH, and Incompetent Boob

First time for the Tamster, she rocked!

    Boob

    YEah, we skied THAT.

Time to change the language. Headed to Courmayeur for a fantastic pow day.

It got cloudy so we did a lap off the top then moved into the trees

Geo039 reppin' the Downskis in da pillows

Boob jumpin' that bitch ass tree(tm)

    McLovin

    Yo Yo YO!

    February and midwinter pow time

Back to Chandolin with McLovin and Incompetent Boob

    Killin' the pow

    And killin' the food

Back to Leysin with Tamster and McLovin

FINALLY, I hook up with local legend Orash111 for a massively fun day at Les Marecottes

Back to G3000, top to bottom laps all day long. All. Day. Long. Took more video than pics. Video coming soon.

    Ripzcam following McLovin

    Boob taking off

Mid-Feb and doing it again at G3000. Hit the backside this time - 2000m top to bottom! Pow!

Got a little scrappy late Feb so went to Nax to explore and ski some pistes and eat some croutes

    Kitty loves Downskis!

March petered out a bit for pow. S'ok, we can always get high and find a little pow.

Verbier again with McLovin and Incompetent Boob. Stairway to Heaven.

Followed by a Method Man/Redman + Cypress Hill concert in Crans Montana.

Back to G3000. Another pow day. This time with Geo039 and KKrizzknuckles.

Long time since we saw Ovronnaz. With McLovin and Tamster.

    Tamster

    McLovin

Kitty guards the downskis back home

April comes around and the big stuff is ready.

Verbier, watching Incompetent Boob ski Bec des Rosses while extremely jetlagged.

    And made new friends

Squeezing out one last pow day at G3000

    Luckier than most

    How was the season?

    Nice review! Thanks for sharing.

Still trying to squeeze out a few spring tours...... but summer is approaching fast.
Will get on the bike at some point also, but have not even cleaned it yet from the last season. Ouuuch.......

Me a local legend? Why thank you, but I doubt that's true. You've been in CH much longer than me so I doubt I can be called local. Plus I look up to so many others for inspiration myself. Thanks though for that compliment. Was sweet ripping up pow together.

Gonna try and ski a few steeps this weekend, but probably in the argentiere basin instead of the midi. Last weekend they have the GM lifts open, so it has to be done.

maybe later in may off the midi.

i didn't have great luck with picking my holidays this season. decided to take easter off to visit FL and ascension holiday for CPH. both dates are loaded with snow and good to go.

think of me as a sacrificial lamb for Ullr. someone's gotta do it.
