If it's for the kids I can't imagine they would care about the shape.

This summer we picked up a used Springfree for a steal. I am pretty sold on the design, especially the safety net since our two boys basically turn it into a cage match.

we had a cheep round one from Wal Mart. think we paid $500 and had it for 5-6 years (three boys). No ER as a direct result of that trampoline, but plenty of other visits.

They seem gimmicky to me, and for what they cost you can buy a high-end rectangular.

another vote for the spring-free trampolines. Mine is 5 years old - it is still in great shape. one of my kids - 15 - still uses it. way better than a costco special. no spaces for a limb to get stuck in.

I looked seriously at the springless, safety and performance tramps. Just couldn't justify the cost for something that's going to rot in the sun and elements. Ended up with a traditional round one with a safety net, I think from Costco. The net keeps 'em in, and the springs are covered. My kids don't get rad, so it's been fine. It's springy enough for flips, but maybe not enough for more radical radness.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Whatever you do, don't spray it down with the hose or set it next to the pool.

But radical radness is what a trampoline is all about!

I want to get one. Mostly for myself but I guess sharing with the two kids could work sometimes. Grew up with one and need again.

They're way less bouncy. I checked when I was in tramp shopping mode.

We have a square springfree. My wife did a ton of research and decided on that model. I thought the price was insane ($2K). We've had it 9yrs in Seattle area weather and it's still holding up great. 5 kids and their friends use it regularly (almost every day, year round). I've gotten my money's worth from it.

Here is another vote for the spring free trampoline. I bought the 9, round (R79) used 8 years ago and it is still in good condition in spite of the Colorado sun. The only problem is that the safety net zipper broke 2 years ago, but 2 well placed carabiners have worked just find. Lots of use from my boys and all of there friends without an ED visit. And my early season skiing has been much improved.

Certainly less bouncy compared to other expensive tramps, but this probably helps with the safety. If acrobatics are your goal, consider the rectangle. My 11 year old is running short on space for flips on the 9’ round.

We got this beast a little over a year ago.

Has held up well in the FL sun. The square design is pretty cool. Gives a huge surface area.

Interesting bump. I was lucky enough to have a rich friends across the street. Professional grade buried in the ground. It is the way to go. I think anything sticking strait up like poles and nets, is a bad idea.

He definitely does, and he's about as far from a bratty entitled shithead as you can get. Like any kid he has his moments, but he's such a great kid. He helps out around the house a lot and his teachers have nothing but wonderful things to say about him.

I came very, very close to doing the sensible thing and buying a rectangular model from UpperBounce (https://upperbounce.com/category/5-r...lar-trampoline). They're pretty well reviewed and a solid step up from a Walmart special. $1k for their 10x17 is a pretty good deal. Not much of a warranty, but powder-coated "heavy-duty" tubing (they don't specify the actual gauge, so probably ~2 mm compared to the 2.5/3.0 mm ACON and Galactic use), 8-row stitching on the mat attachments, 500-lb weight limit, fairly high spring count but only 7" springs instead of ACON/Galctic's 10" springs.

For those that want to go full-dentist, I also found these: https://maxairtrampolines.com/ Their enclosed 14x14 model is a mere $25,000 Plebes can get the 7x14 for $12k.

Technically, I think pedophilia requires attraction to pre-pubescents.

Got the ACON installed over the weekend. I can't say you don't get your money's worth, the quality is very impressive. Kiddo has layout backies on lock already. I did a few test jumps but it was clearly an activity that my brain is not ready for.

Huge props to ACON, they ran a deep Black Friday deal and gave it to me retroactively. Saved me $300. Deal is still good through today.
