    SPAM...Ski Survey for MBA Class

    Warning...this is SPAM...but I need some help.

I am writing to ask you a HUGE favor…please take my short survey (10 questions, mostly multiple choice). This is for an imaginary ski pass product that I have to write up a marketing plan for as part of a marketing class I am in. The answers are anonymous.

As you can tell from this post, I am not very good at marketing (I'm just a lowly dentist), so I can use all the help I can get.

    The survey is here:
    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FJZZJ2J

I really appreciate the help, enjoy the (almost) spring snow, and be safe.

    Jason

Done. I would pay an absurd amount of money to never wait in line, though that would never happen at Alpental.

Check out the "Seven Summits" club at Snowbird, they do basically all of these things. I think it costs like 10000 or so a pass.

    Done.

The opportunity to pay extra to not wait in line and for first tracks and to pay extra for your own little members only area etc. etc. stinks of ultimate douche mountain..... I get it, it's a business and they can do what ever they want to do to maximize profits, but like ticket sales to concerts, major league sports etc.... They will just have to do it without me.

Done. This class doesn't have anything to do with survey design and psychometrics huh?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!

Wolf - no the class doesn't cover those topics. I am very unfamiliar with proper survey design (as you can tell), but the data from this survey is really only a small part of the overall project, so I hope the data will be ok. I am not trying to actually develop a product, really just trying to fulfill a class assignment.

Bridge - thanks for the info, I will check it out.

    that's how I played it.
I don't like the whole privileged for extra money thing. Talk about pissing allot of people off.

On the mountain are have an equal chance, it cannot be any other way.

Now if there we a fee to say start 30 or an hour before others? Hum?

You want 30 minutes to an hour head start (who doesn't) .... How about volunteer work "points" to get you to the front of the line....

    Possibilities....

For those interested in some brief survey results, the target market looks like this:
    Male
    25-44 years old.
    $50,000-$125,000 household income.
Skiing more than 25days each season.
Live less than 100miles from ski resort.
They are primarily frustrated with crowds, long drives, and lift lines.
They expect to pay $500-$1,000 for a pass with the features they desire.
They responded that private areas of the mountain, line-jumping, and early access were their most important features in an "exclusive" pass.
They ranked line-jumping, buddy passes, prime parking locations, private areas of the mountain and free demo gear the highest (in that order) of the predefined feature set that we provided.

This data is admittedly skewed since the survey responses were from those who frequent 14ers.com and TGR. However, the data is interesting nonetheless and should be OK to fulfill the project requirements. Thanks for the help!

For $0 on lift tickets and a little effort I skied 37 days this winter all in the bc. No lift lines, no tracks and no one telling me what I can and cannot ski. Priceless.

Whistler already does this as a charity thing

    http://ww1.whistlerblackcomb.com/wbf.../founders.html

However, I think there are a few restrictions on when exactly they can use it and I think the rich people buying those things are more doing it for charity than getting first tracks on a powder day and they aren't generally the people slaying my lines so no skin off my back.

I want a lot of those things but probably wouldn't actually pay for them.
