    Front Range Trail Conditions

I was wondering if Mt Falcon or Chimney Gulch would be good to ride by Saturday. My family and I are headed to the FR to see Anthony Bourdain on Sunday night in Boulder. Wondering if anything will be rideable or if I shouldn't bother packing all my bike stuff. I was thinking those two have good exposure for melting out quick.

I'm a few blocks from Chimney and we got 8" yesterday.
Even if it melts off I'd think it will be muddy.

grskier, I think your best chance will be to ride up in Lyons (Hall, Heil, etc). I don't know how much snow they got, but I live in Niwot and we only got a few inches of snow yesterday. Those trails have been drying out a lot faster than the southern metro trails this spring.

I wouldn't get your hopes up though, I think most of the foothills got a good bit of snow from yesterday's storm. Check the conditions thread on MTBR, there are a few guys on there that update conditions pretty regularly.

Buff Creek will likely be good on Saturday, but not sure you want to make the extra drive.

Gets less snow and tends to dry out quicker.

Buff Creek like an 1.5hr drive from downtown Boulder?

We like more specific criteria around here...

I think I can muster a 45 minute drive from Boulder city limits to ride on Saturday, maybe Sunday (if this bike transaction goes through). Will there be any options? I know that actually leaves very few rides..... as everyone knows mountain biking IN boulder is scarce.

    Looks warm but cloudy today.

Check out this page: Boulder County Open Space Trail Conditions

I don't think you'll get much trail riding in within 45 min of Boulder this weekend. 14" at the Heil TH and south Boulder as well means most areas are out.

^^^Don't really know, but their FB page has the most up-to-date info. If you check Fri night or Sat morning you'll probably have an idea of whether any of it will be open for the weekend.

I bet Devils Backbone in Loveland will be dry and rideable by Saturday. They didn't get nearly the snow that Boulder did... it's probably 35-45 minutes north of Boulder using some of the backroads (HWy 36 to Hwy 66 to 75th).

Thanks, I just saw on MTBR the northern stuff looks good.

DBB is a super fun trail... start from the main Devil's Backbone TH and go out to Blue Sky and do the Indian Summer loop, it's around 11-12 miles.

    About-face.
I saw somebody riding down Chimney this afternoon (though I can't believe it's dry yet) and I'd think most everything around here will be rideable on Sunday.

Redstone bike shop in Lyons saying Hall is drying out fast with only a few muddy spots. Also, Valmont is mostly open. Looks like there will be some options for the weekend!

Dakota / MW is a go. Guessing WR will be ready by tomorrow afternoon, if not earlier.

Also saying Pic Rock/Wild Turkey/Ponderosa is in great shape.

I need to get motivated to ride. Recent home purchase and a half-marathon in a month are taking away from my bike time.

I'll be hitting Hall and Picture Rock this afternoon before the next series of storms hit.

Rode Chimney up to Windy Saddle late this afternoon, other than a few small puddles its good to go.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.
