Long Board Day 2013!!!! Alpental 4/20

Smoke em if you got em. Not just another excuse to vape yourself into an incoherent mess. It's the only excuse to vape yourself into an incoherent mess.

Come one come all. Le Internationale awaits.

Short skis suck, long skis truck.
A simple mantra and in celebration we are hosting the seventh annual Long Board Day.
The shit will get rolled up and passed around Saturday April 20th in Lot Four, Alpental, WA.

We want you to join us. Seriously, we (the past participants) want you (Long Board Day virgins) to go skiing with us.
Look for the VW Camper van, cubes of canned beer, smokey trails of medical grade ganja, and the posse of dudes wearing Regan-era ski gear.
Okay, that describes 50% of Alpental’s clientele; we’ll be the guys with DH boards who aren’t listening to Phish.

The rules for Long Board Day are very simple: spend the day on skis that are at least 210 centimeters long.
This is not a costume party, vintage ski wear only counts for extra credit.

    See you on the slopes…

    FAQ:
    What if I’m a woman?
Roll old school 195cm or longer

What if I’m scared of man sized skis?
    Just try.

    What if I’m a snowboarder?
Impress us. Nose buttering Nash on a 147 would be cool and everyone respects the Mystery Air (it is mysterious).

    What if I don’t own 210s?
Craig’s List, Value Village, or the Salvation Army store are excellent resources. We should have lots of extras since mofro raided a garbage can last year and came up with many pairs of 210>

You know you want to party with this guy

    or this guy

you could never hang with this guy

    don't touch the rabbit pelt

if only our french tour guide would come show us the way to le internationale

this isn't a scene from a movie. it's the real deal.

but please do not dress like its a drama club high school rehersal

maybe the greatest picture ever. these are just alpental regulars.

last years crew in full effect

And, if that's not enough to entice you, here's the TR from last year.

Hour east of Seattle on I90.

Check into flights to Hawaii from Bellingham sometimes a good deal compared to Seattle.

Holy shit that video is awesome.

I think I saw you guys last year wondering who the fuck are these guys? they must suck and stopped skiing years ago but decided to all meet and just use old gear and rekindle the good old days, like a reunion or something.

Then I saw a few of you tearing down international and instantly became more confused.

    Now it all makes sense

Al, you asking me on a date?

Well I'm afraid that although I am single, my preference extends to more along the feminine line. Though it is true that the thought of both of us in tight yellow unitards sprightly prancing along endless sandy beaches in the fading orange/red gloaming of a Hawaiian sunset should be giving all maggots nightmares for weeks (no thanks required, my pleasure). Also, I'm suggesting to potential employers that I'd be available for work on April 22.

So I'll talk to you @ the schussboomer about LBD.

As to where is Alpental? It is not so much a place as a state of mind. I would suggest it is near the middle of Gnarnia, close to the glide cracks and over by the in-bound coolies. Oh, and it is inhabited by the Alpentalians (a race of ski mutants - throw-backs to the days of yore when skiing was done utilizing slow speed doubles with nicely padded butt support). Here tasty nourishment of all kinds is shared communally in the hallowed environs of Lot 4.

I'm going to try to make it, I've planned and been unable to in years past.

I only own a pair of 201's though and the goodwill in town has nowhere near the selection of the Seattle area stores. Can anyone lend a pair to fit a 310?
