Short skis suck, long skis truck.
A simple mantra and in celebration we are hosting the seventh annual Long Board Day.
The shit will get rolled up and passed around Saturday April 20th in Lot Four, Alpental, WA.

We want you to join us. Seriously, we (the past participants) want you (Long Board Day virgins) to go skiing with us.
Look for the VW Camper van, cubes of canned beer, smokey trails of medical grade ganja, and the posse of dudes wearing Regan-era ski gear.
Okay, that describes 50% of Alpental’s clientele; we’ll be the guys with DH boards who aren’t listening to Phish.

The rules for Long Board Day are very simple: spend the day on skis that are at least 210 centimeters long.
This is not a costume party, vintage ski wear only counts for extra credit.

What if I’m a woman?

Craig’s List, Value Village, or the Salvation Army store are excellent resources. We should have lots of extras since mofro raided a garbage can last year and came up with many pairs of 210>

Hour east of Seattle on I90.

Check into flights to Hawaii from Bellingham sometimes a good deal compared to Seattle.

Well I'm afraid that although I am single, my preference extends to more along the feminine line. Though it is true that the thought of both of us in tight yellow unitards sprightly prancing along endless sandy beaches in the fading orange/red gloaming of a Hawaiian sunset should be giving all maggots nightmares for weeks (no thanks required, my pleasure). Also, I'm suggesting to potential employers that I'd be available for work on April 22.

As to where is Alpental? It is not so much a place as a state of mind. I would suggest it is near the middle of Gnarnia, close to the glide cracks and over by the in-bound coolies. Oh, and it is inhabited by the Alpentalians (a race of ski mutants - throw-backs to the days of yore when skiing was done utilizing slow speed doubles with nicely padded butt support). Here tasty nourishment of all kinds is shared communally in the hallowed environs of Lot 4.
