You didn't grow up somewhere in the Midwest where big chunks of American cheese are a key ingredient in many recipes.

Replacing windshield wiper blades annoys me. It always seems like it should be a 5 minute job and most of the time it takes way longer. Either you can't get the old ones off or can't get the new ones on without more effort than seems necessary. Today I actually had to Google how to get the old ones off. The new ones should have been simple, but one of them had the wrong mounting attachment installed and it was very difficult to remove. I thought I was going to break the entire assembly, but I didn't.

I'm sure you all have discussed this somewhere -

WTF is up with this site? Most of the time I can't open discussions because I'm redirected to Legal Zoom and this happens with every thread. Sometimes it's a different ad for an online game. If I refresh I can then get into the thread I want but I can't reply unless I refresh or go to Advanced.

Why is it such a pain in the ass to navigate this site? Is it just me?

Oh, and when I posted that^ I got this message and it acted as if it didn't post.

    ^^^^^that
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent this decisively. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

If your browser is redirecting you off site you likely have some nasty malware to deal with.

Nah, this was happening on our work network as well. TGR forums has some serious backend issues still.

My dad keeps sending me Medium articles even though I don't subscribe and can't read them (which I've told him). Today I reminded him I couldn't read an article he sent and he screenshotted it (on his phone) and texted it to me as a series of like a dozen screenshots. Trying to think of a nice way to say that I _could_ read it that way but I really don't want to.

Just be grateful that your dad is tech savvy enough to do that.

What is Medium? Never heard of it. The paywall popup makes it sound like I have to pay $5 month to read amateur scribbles from hacks and kooks.

An 80 year old has been using tech for 20 years or more. If they're having trouble it's not because they did things differently all their life. It's because their mind is going. And have you ever tried to text with arthritic fingers?

It's faster for me to just re-enter the site, at least on a laptop.
It's also annoying when the cursor stops working, but reloading the page fixes that. (But it doesn't work for the 45 second thing.

Lately I've been having intermittent problems loading web sites--sometimes have to reload once or twice. I've done all the troubleshooting--empty cache, etc--without any success. As best as I can tell the problem is at the ISP level, which is not surprising.

Pretty much, basically it's like paying to read TGR.

TBF, there are some journalists, pundits, etc. on the platform that might be worth paying for, but I've never been interested enough to ante up.
