That might work in VT with a Subaru but not around here with your weekend warrior extended cab long bed 4WD pickup. Those things have trouble making it through the 2 lane roundabouts.

As in Texas, the drivers least capable of parking a big ass truck...are the most likely to own a big ass truck...

Kids little league parent. There was only one youngster on the team who didn’t have his own bat. The boy mostly had his g parents taking him to our activities and I figured the folks were out making ends meet. He was also wearing hand me down red cleats for the A’s.
I go and buy the kid a bat so he’s not left out. Give it to him at a game. He’s shy but stoked in his face. Never got a thank you from the parents – not a real big deal. Was doing a good gesture. What burns me is the mom shows at the game today and has a Gucci messenger bag that must of been 2Gs and seems like a jones’ type. I give her a 10 on the yoga pants tho. You can tell she lives in the gym.

When I was a kid my parents never once watched me play anything--mostly pickup softball and street hockey and organized basketball. Neither did anyone else's parents. Times have changed. We went to our kids' sports--swimming, water polo, XC. We skied together and apart, but they didn't race. I think kids have more fun playing pickup sports without parents around (we didn't go to golf matches--parents weren't allowed) but of course they'll never get the college scholarship that way. I know I'm definitely in the minority and I'm not criticizing folks who attend their kids' organized sports--after all we did it ourselves.

My sister has the same one so it caught my attention easily- and looked real, but possibly you’re right. Difference is my sis is a DINK and not neglecting her kid. I get a strong narcissist vibe from this one

Today in down town I had the astonishing pleasure as a pedestrian of observing a Prius get halfway through the 4-way and then belatedly decide they had no other option but to attempt a U-ey with three other cars staring them down: 5 point turn, with numerous back-ups, no wave or sheepish thank you. I think I spoke for every one when I screamed WHAT DA FUCKITY FUCK?!?!?

    Yes, I live in CA.

It's always amazing to see how pissed off people get by being delayed by five seconds while driving. I can't think of any other context, outside of actual competition, where people are so intent on shaving off seconds to get somewhere.

This is these kids first year in baseball because last year covid wiped out their shot at Tball. So coaches pitch and it’s a tougher way to get off the ground. Most of the parents are very hands on. And I know for a fact some of these parent are corporate cowboys and they still find time.

It's not the delay that annoys me--as my kid likes to remind me when I get impatient I have a lot of time. It's the fact that a fellow human or near-human thinks that their needs outweigh mine.

As far as kids' sports, I do have to say I got a thrill watching my kid get a rare goal in water polo. He was in a scrum in the hole against the goalie and the hole defender. All you could see was a lot of splashing out of which a ball came out and into the goal. He was easily the slowest kid on the team but he never let the rules get in his way when he was within an arm's or leg's reach of someone.

ski areas should have lots for trucks and vans over a certain length. Pay lots. And they're not allowed in the free lots.

    Dayum .....
Over sized vehicles/trucks do have more challenging time when parking, but UP ON THE SIDEWALK?!?!?
That's where I get dangerously/stupidly close to violence ...... being a nazi geezer pedestrian 'n all.
Probably best if I just leave screed note on the windshield.

Blocking the sidewalk and taking 2 spots. Special person with the Hat trick. I watched him park, he didn’t need to block the sidewalk, plenty of room to pull forward. He was parking to go into Starbucks too.

I so would have parked within a few inches of his driver side door if I was looking for some drama.
