I tried to watch a show on the BBC using a server in England through my vpn and now google apparently thinks I'm in England and keeps blocking shit on youtube. Even if I'm on a different server through the vpn it blocks shit and I have to switch servers but that only works for like 1 video. It's not a crisis just switching servers but it's getting annoying to have to keep doing it.

If I google shit I get results in England, which is kind of wacky. I went into google settings and clicked I was in the US but it didn't change anything.

I've had three vacations I've had to cancel due to COVID, and it's looking likely I will have to pull the plug on a fourth in the next few weeks.

I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed about that, or the fact that our mishandling of COVID is largely to blame for 3/4 of those cancellations.

Maybe some Colorado mags can weigh in, but why does everyone from there now refer to everything as “spicy”?

My Eagle County friends can’t say two words about what they did outside without calling part or all of the activity spicy.

maybe uninstall the vpn and then reinstall and configure?

I figured out what was going on, somehow Youtube figured out that I had adblock installed. It seems to have started with and somehow involve trying to watch a UK show on the BBC through a server in England is all I really know.

It took me a while to figure it out because I've had adblock for years with no problems. And for a while if I switched servers with the vpn it fooled Youtube but it caught up to me and finally I couldn't watch any videos at all, from any server with or without the vpn even though I deleted cookies and emptied my cache.

Some research suggested turning off adblock and as soon as I did all videos play fine, but now with ads. I installed adblock plus but it's not blocking the ads like adblock did. I gotta try a different adblocker, because Youtube really blows with ads. Shit's unwatchable.

Yeah the British game show. Season 13 was completed this year and season 14 starts in the Fall. I've been going backwards and have watched everything from the current season back to the start of season 6 so far. I'll check Mitchell and Webb, I love David Mitchell, but I don't know who Webb is.

I installed AdGuard for Safari and it's working for now at least.
