When was this? September ish? Something went around the northeast. My son down in MA had a weird ear infection, and I came down with it a few days later up here in VT. I got my hearing back, but it was not very good before either. However, it really fucked me up for a few weeks. I even had a dizzy spell that lasted a few hours. I could barely walk. Unfortunately this happened while I was out doing errands. I almost drove myself to the ER because I didn't want to be in a store and take a fall and have somebody call an ambulance. I made it home instead.

Fridge compressor crapped the bed last night.
LG must be having some real issues as we can’t get anyone until November 19 to replace it. Thankful for the beer fridge.

Best to have multiple fridges; we've had two of our three go toes up at the same time.

Anyone ever tried renting a fridge short term waiting for a repair. Is it worth it after delivery and haul away fees, etc.

I bet for most Mormons, asking them 'if they're all good', is a massive existential question and not one to discuss in front of the clan.
    God Knows.

Next time, just ask 'what did you do to deserve this?'. That'll send 'em into orbit for a year.

Long week! Tell this story. Contacts ?! Wtf. Not the typical harmful substance that the doc prohibits !

Apparently you didn't get the memo that appliances are disposable these days.

I have never had a fridge die before I planned to replace it. I am hoping our current fridge is our forever fridge, given my age, but perhaps I'm being too optimistic. And no--I don't get memos since I retired.

That sounds lovely. I could do without most of the memos I get these days. Including appliance related memos.

bought new snow tires last friday in Pagosa. get back to my house about an hour away and one is leaking. Flat every morning. Left skiing early yesterday to get the tire fixed. Shop says too busy. Come back today they open at nine. I show up at 8:45. One guy is waiting in line at the door. I sit in my truck and another guy gets in line. I figured better get out there and get in line. So I wait and BS with the other two guys. Three other people show up behind me and we walk in and line up. the first two guys go to the counter. Some guy walks in and tells me and the people waiting that he is going ahead of us. Said he was waiting in his vehicle since 8:30 and deserved to be ahead of us. I told him that was not happening. I get to the counter and the guy says 3 hrs until my turn. I said no way. Have them fill my tire so I could leave. Went skiing came home and changed out the tire. Sent the leaking one back to Pagosa with my friend. So still need one more trip over there to pick the tire up and get it put on.

I think somebody stole my boots from the ski swap!

I didn’t see them when I visited the swap this morning so I assumed they sold…but no, they didn’t sell and they were nowhere to be found at post-swap pickup.

Also the swap was overloaded with gear this year…never seen so much stuff. I price my stuff pretty aggressively because I’m just trying to get rid of it (and I don’t send useless old junk), but half my stuff didn’t sell. Usually everything sells and is gone by the time the line subsides and I like my head in.

That is annoying. If it helps any I'm skiing Monday and could grab your tire on my way through Pagosa. Of course I am assuming you live on the South Fork side of the pass. Either way I could at least get it to Wolf creek so you don't have to drive all the way down.

Vibes BFD. That’s f’d that you bought new tires there and are getting screwed.

Over in baytucky I had one shop break a few studs on my car so I stopped going there. I started going to discount tires in dgo where I make an appt., but they let walk ups bump appt’s. And it’s always a shit show of people waiting for them to open like you said. If you go there in the summer, holy crap it’s tourons all day buying new tires for their wranglers to drive gravel roads on. Quite the scene.

I really should just get another set of rims so I can swap wheels at home. Or at least find a tire guy.

Yup. It only takes me about 40 minutes a car and that’s with proper torque etc. (and I don’t have an impact drill).

Yep, second set of wheels is so convenient.

Getting new tires? Drop off the wheels and come back whenever. Get a flat - in summer or winter - throw on one of the others and drop off the damaged one to get repaired/replaced.

    Shit that annoys you

Got a cordless impact wrench last year. The swap is easier and takes way less time out of my life than having somebody else do it. I have to grunt around some heavy-ish wheels and tires but I figure that’s just some exercise.

Also, eighteen inch wheel/tire set is cheaper than just twenty-one inch tires for my wife’s vehicle.
    focus.

Might want to come east for tires next time. No pass and at least 2 good shops/service in Alamosa. Hope it gets squared away.
