Most narcissistic person I know, who fired 90% of her staff by email this year during Covid before rehiring a bunch more people to take their places at lower wages. Well today on her FB feed she posted that her New Years resolution is to “focus more on taking care of myself and making myself happy”. I don’t laugh out loud often from things on the internet but this one had me rolling.

Trying to transfer some stuff to vanguard. Sent them paperwork, last night got an email saying I had to call them during business hours. I've been on hold for 25 minutes now with no indication of expected hold time (annoying) and no guarantee that I am finally going to get someone who can help me. Also, every few minutes the hold music stops and it "rings" like your hold is over and a rep is about to pick up, but it's just an automated voice telling you that you can go online to do lots of stuff and don't have to stay on hold. Except I have to stay on hold because I need to speak with someone. (annoying)

Yeah - I think someone mentioned that as a Fidelity advantage in one of the PR threads - most major metro areas have actual human-staffed Fidelity offices. Last time my wife rolled over a work 401K into an IRA she just took the distribution from the old company's 401K admin, walked into Fidelity and deposited it into her rollover IRA.

You *do* have to ignore the calls and emails from Fidelity to "help you out with your investing" but that's easy enough...

When I was in medical school we had a series of sex ed lectures and films. The one on masturbation was given by a tall, blond, gorgeous, 40 something psychiatry prof who opened the lecture with a full 10 minutes of slang terms for masturbation. She had us rolling on the floor, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who felt a sudden need for a extended course of psychotherapy.

They were the only lectures everyone showed up for--they were mostly films of people doing various kinds of sex. Internet porn hadn't been invented. I think the idea was to make it easier to talk to patients about sex. Didn't do me any good--they didn't have any movies of guys sticking foreign objects up their ass for me to have to remove.

I had mentioned it. I thank vanguard for lowering fees, but their popularity and lack of customer service can be a bitch to deal with sometimes. Not to mention fidelity web and apps are superior.

Yesterday, last day of 2020.....driving month old 2021 Tundra on highway coming home from skiing......big stone kicks up from dump truck up ahead...hits dead center of windshield leaves “bullet hole”....then precedes to crack out the entire width of windshield...

Oh well....figured it was a fitting end to the year.
