As a kid, I loved the back of the bus. Backpacking around India, I realized I had chosen poorly

I was at a bar couple weeks ago out with all the hockey guys...we were really getting after it.

Bathroom has kegs with cutouts for pissers. My hammer brushed up against the cold, filthy stainless steel when I was reeling it back in.

I yelled out...IT TOUCHED THE KEG!...IT TOUCHED THE KEG!

Me and the other guys in there had a meeting about what my next move should be. The consensus was to burn off my wrench and go from there

I borderline lost it with how funny I thought the post was without actually catching the joke.

I'm annoyed at myself for going against my better judgement, yielded to my wife's badgering, and took an ill-advised detour when I80 was blocked by an accident. (There was a legit detour further downstream but she thought we could get to it sooner. Added another hour to the drive. I'm not annoyed at my wife; it was in her nature; like the the story of the frog and the scorpion, or Donald Trump.

I'm getting a little annoyed that I keep getting signed out of everything online today, TGR, google (multiple times), etc. etc. Wtf? Somebody else used my computer a little yesterday, is there some setting they might have changed (mac)?

Fair question, now that I think about it. Oddly enough, no, I've seen it from both sides plenty of times. The first, a salesman and a couple competitors got caught. The penalty looked life-changing at the time, so it always seemed reasonable when salespeople I worked with would tread carefully around price-fixing. On further review it appears the answer to my question was a little obvious, though.

I have been unlucky enough to witness security escort my contact with an organization off campus moments before our meeting. I've shown up for a meeting only to be told, Jim is no longer with the company but, the comptroller would like to ask you a few questions. I've been interviewed as part of an investigation. Been party to hundreds of submittals that had "insider" influence. Most of this in pharma

Some alliances take decades to establish - just seconds to destroy. Some are fleeting and have you walking on eggs every f'n second.

The walls have ears - I hearken from a time when the business environment included brown paper bags and deliveries of merchandise way beyond the normal scope of a project.

Just a quick scenario from the working man's prospective:

A crane fails an unannounced inspection and can't be manned because someone missed the early am meeting at the diner on Monday before shape up. You don't think this happens every day in every major metropolis in the US and is rampant on every level around the globe?

(for those that need it extrapolated - the 5:30am meeting at the diner isn't just pleasantry's over coffee and a sunrise)

Not meaning to sound as callous as all that... The difference in today's market place and the blatant graft of decades past. The detailed effort to identify and negotiate "gifting" is so much more subliminal and delicate.

I quit drinking Jameson about 3 months ago. = Went through withdraws and everything.

Have been on a 2 or 3 beer diet a few days a week since - just to take the edge off.
Tonight I bought a 200ml little bottle of Jameson. - after 4 hours it's gone, and I never really felt that "Mentally checked out buzz"

I mean SHIT! really? what's the point.

Think I might just go buy a 450R to fuck around on next week

    Vail.

Went pay for the wife’s bike haul, she had done the waiver prior. They can’t find it, I know exact day and time. Won’t look in the paperwork. Walk bike to lift (another fucking annoyance) and she has to go back and do the paper work.

    I hate those guys.

when people at work submit shit and put your name on the stuff they wrote. I mean WTF? The sad truth is many people in the construction industry have the writing skills of a 4th grader and I don't want to be associated with that

In Whole Foods parking lot. Went down one row, turned the corner and about to turn left to come down the final row. That row has cars backed up waiting to exit out to the street. Ahead of me in the row I’m turning into is a car who has just backed up out of a parking space, but is sitting there waiting for the traffic to clear. So we are all just sitting there for a minute or so.

All of a sudden, the car behind me pulls up along side of me on my left, trying to pass me in the parking lot! When the traffic finally clears, it pulls into the space I was waiting for.

I’m a little miffed, but I score another spot a little farther along. Couldn’t find any dog poop for the door handles.

    Yeah, that would be annoying.
