House paint that appears significantly brighter and lighter in the house than it does the sample card and even the stir stick.

I thought about a cage--somewhere else on the property, train the pigeons to carry messages and stuff. But my wife says no.

When did house paint ever match the sample card.

Meticulous and cautious, but even then, has a tendency to turn things on their head.

Always buy a sample pint and brush it out on the wall in a couple different places.

    But you know that now...

Nah I have the sample card here. Paint looks different on different substrates.
Also card is made with printing ink and paint is not.
But still. Going back to add more black in, not the first time.
    Just a hassle.

Spa depot park city sends some ass hat to check my cold half full hot tub. Says it leaking from the light....might be a pump problem. Never added water etc. I add water, small leak from light water pouring from pump. In the meantime estimated price comes. $900 for pump, $400 labor. $80 light parts, $100 in labor. That’s a lot of money.
I look up parts. Full retail for pump $295. Light, $13.

Looks to be 2 couplings and a straight wire change over. 40 minutes and I’m done.

    WTF?

If you watch me go after the pigeons you might be reminded of Bill Murray.

Welp...not at home but girl said she found feathers this morning, then saw a little gray owl, really fast, wingspan 18-20".
    Boreal owl? Saw-whet owl?

Shooting the hawk seems a waste of time now...

It's a good racket, people expect the parts for a $7000 hot tub to be expensive. A friend of mine called me last year saying he had a leak in his tub and got an $800 estimate to repair it. I helped him suss out the cracked main feed fitting for him, cut them out and he ordered the pvc fittings for $30, glued them in and rejoiced in saving the money.
Local hot tub guy of 30+ years is selling his business and I have mulled over buying it as it is a pretty chill gig.

If you have the skills, sounds like you do, that would be a great side hustle. It isn’t like there are many Hot Tub “emergencies”.

Keeping on topic I was voluntold to do a showcase event at work today in front of a bunch of Sr Leaders, the guy who voluntold me was going to do the technical part...well he just emailed that he is sick and won’t be there. FML.

But imagine the business he'd rack up if he could make a time machine out of one.
