I'm just hoping they ignore the ticket and then attempt to enter a Schengen country in a year or two and have the agent tell them they are welcome to enter just as soon as their now $2,000 Iceland speeding ticket is paid in full

Finally committed to buying a new (used) MTB. Working out perfectly, semi local seller who was driving through town TOMORROW and was going to drop off. Settling on details for the last week.....

Just got a message today after 2 days of radio silence. Never mind. Decided to keep the bike.

Now trying to realign plans that were hinging around having a sick new bike.

    Damnit.
    focus.

May I speak to so and so?
He's not available right now. Give me your name and number and I'll leave him a message.
He already has my name and number, twice. He's not calling me back.
If you give me your name and number I'll leave a message.
What good will that do. I've already left him 2 messages. He's not calling back. May I speak to his supervisor?
He's not available. If you give me your name and number I'll give him a message.
He already has my name and number. He's not calling me back either.
How can I help you if you won't leave your name and number?
By getting one of them on the phone now.
They're not available. If you leave . . .[hang up]

Also, boat speakers annoy me. Some particularly loud ones parked in front of our house this evening. A little Jimmy Rogers yodeling on the outdoor speakers at full volume chased them.I pissed off the guy living next door--not sure who it is, maybe related to the woman who rents the place, maybe a squatter. I only played it for 2 minutes, so fuck him.

PS I like Jimmy Rogers, although I don't listen to him very often.

Cool tech job posted implementing new virtual machine features, working with intel.

Go through the usual hoops of phone interviews, online tests, more phone interviews, vetting by HR departments, finally the all day in person bombardment of tricky programming questions, whiteboarding code, reviews of chip architectures, CPUs, MMUs, IOMMUs, APIC, LAPIC, IOAPIC, MSI, IPI, DMA, paged pool, nonpaged pool, page tables, TLBs, locking and unlocking pages, kernel mode, user mode, IRQs, PCI enumeration, BARs, DeviceIDs, VendorIDs, cache coherency, cache flush, cache invalidation, device reads, device writes, Virtualization, VMCBs, VirtIO, MSRPM, IOPM .

    Then waiting a week.

    Tick tick tick.

Get acceptance modulo the position being funded..

In all my professional life, I have never heard of this. Normally, a position is funded, then they do the interviews, narrow candidates, and select. But here's an instance where the interviews have occurred and now the funding is in question?

    Huh?

    Annoying.

You sure this isn't what the "interview" was for? Hope you weren't brain raped, my friend.

Not this time; already have had some patent infringement on our digital audio patents though.

Countries that won't accept a passport that expires 6 months after your plane ticket home. The old man in me is sure it's a conspiracy of the passport industry.

I’ve been given so many zucchini that I’ve got to make zucchini bread. I don’t even like zucchini bread.

Only the svelte-ist of tender young zucchini are going to fit in that spiral cutter. The ones that people give away are usually way too big.

Wife bought this one a couple years ago, it seems sturdy, works well and can handle most zukes. https://www.amazon.com/Spiralizer-Ve.../dp/B00GRIR87M

edit: no idea if it's better than the one posted above^^ but similar idea
