It happens to me multiple times a day while driving a fucking bus.

A car comes on the on ramp parallel to me, not even looking. I slow down a little to let it get ahead.

It doesnt speed up. I slow down a little more. It still doesnt speed up.

Next, the driver finally looks and sees a bus is next to it right about when I'm thinking there is no way I'm locking up my brakes so this asshole can get on, and speed back up.

Then they get pissed at me.

Honestly, in theory it's nice to let someone on the on ramp but if you cant change lanes and there isnt so much traffic that it's not possible to merge without help maintaining speed is probably best.

It's hard to tell what the merging car is going to do... speed up and get in front or slow and go behind... and if both cars slow or both cars gas on it...

Was driving along the freeway just the other day, and there was a car STOPPED about 3/4 of the way down the entrance/merge lane. NO FUCKING WAY they were ever going to be able to get up to speed from where they were to merge safely.

Hell - for all I know, they're still there waiting for an opening.

I think people like that are waiting for a traffic light to be installed.

If you can’t merge onto the highway correctly get your ass off the road. Slow down. Go faster. Figure it out. Holy shit is this even an issue?

If there's a steady stream of traffic in the right lane of the highway then speeding up or slowing down does not help. The driver merging onto the highway will have no spot to slip in and eventually have to stop and then the problem of speeding up enough to merge in. Don't be a fing douche. people.
