I haven’t used thr website in a while. Adblocker always. Tapatalk or THR app on the phone. There are some glitches but not awful. Adblock for Safari for real abusive websites.

Our HD set up their Xmas display in September while they still had Halloween up too.

I took a walk last night through my neighborhood and was impressed with the amount of tacky Halloween shit people have out.

I guess they bought the Halloween shit last month to make sure they had it before the HD switchover. To be honest I was amazed people had Halloween decorations up a full three weeks before Halloween. Remember the good old days when a couple jack-o-lanterns was sufficient?

That started in the 50's and ruined the holiday IMO. Can we take it back hundreds of years to the Samhain celebration and make it for pagan adults again? I want big Samghnagan bonfires with friends, cattle sacrificed, chats with dead grandparents, pies left on windowsills for the dead, death sentences for anyone committing a crime during the festival, some heavy drinking and lotsa feasts. I want to feast! Let's welcome the darker half of the year aka ski season with gluttony and alcoholism like our relatives did.

My birthday is Halloween, and I have always had mixed feelings about it. I appreciate the festivity, and general good will among neighbors. But the commercialism is gross.
I don’t love putting up and taking the crap down, but we do it as a family.
I will say, I have seen some epic concerts on my birthday!Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

Why would home Depot carry so much of it if we're not supposed to buy it and put it up?!?!?

Halloween: the day kids put on masks, and adults take theirs off.

My wife took boxes of Halloween crap to the thrift last week. Bless her heart.
She can keep the uber-tacky Xmas stuff tho, because it pisses off the asshole neighbors. People in our neighborhood are very big on tasteful. We're not.

My Halloween annoyance is when people hang dummies up swinging from a noose. I’m a relatively well adjusted individual but that shit triggers me, I hesitate to call it PTSD, but I have some type of response to it. I can’t imagine someone putting a dummy in a chair with its head blown off and a pistol in its lap, or mommy laying in the driveway with an empty bottle of pills next to her, it just seems weird to me. Have fun and decorate however you want but understand it’s not the most awesome thing to see for a lot of people.

Ok, but real talk, cluster flies annoy me. I’ve spent hours caulking every crack I can find and applying poison inside and out, but those little fuckers still find their way in. At least they all die quickly now, but this time of year I vacuum up a pile of them every afternoon at the bottom of a few of my windows.

I forgot this annoying episode. During that really active northern light show Thursday night I went up to the top of the hill I live on to where it's an open north view. I wasn't the only one, there were 10 or more cars and people walking around. I guess this bothered people and the houses we were looking over started turning on all their lights then started flashing them fukkers
