Do followers of any other religions feel the need to broadcast it like many Christians seem to?

    It's worse than Crossfit.

Sports Desert Day annoys me every year. That's today. Hockey, basketball, done. MLB on hiatus. Football not started. Even Wimbledon, done. I barely even watch but I always have a game on at night. Not tonight. Somewhat annoying in a very first world way.

Tour de France has a few more days. Granted, you wouldn't be watching it live if you want to watch in the evening.

    That’s what I was thinking.

Hoping he wasn’t actually suggesting going to a real ballet performance.

I've never heard it called that and going to the peeler joints up in Canada is a thing here.

I grew up in Ontario and it was very common there.

There used to be an outfit running ballets in Jay and Rumford, Maine; I didn't have any idea what the actual business name was, as I only ever heard it referred to as "the ballet". I never went, as the idea of local talent staffing such an establishment wasn't exactly a selling point.

I'm much closer to Montreal and anything on the route up. Montreal is known for its talent.

I see where the confusion could be here:

In Ontario they would talk about going to ‘the ballet’, but in Quebec they speak French so you’d need to translate, in which case they likely talk about going to ‘le ballet’.

I went to one of those ballets once. None of the girls even tried to execute a decent jeté. Very disappointing.

You must hang with a higher class of Vermonters than I do. Pretty common to hear the phrase over the years.

It annoys me that a quick scan of the top of this subforum shows no less than 4 threads dedicated to someone shooting someone. Sigh.

Used to be you'd hop on here on a slow afternoon and see a bunch of virtual slapassery.

Be the change you want to see and all that I guess.
I still call it The Jake.
