Our cockapoo loves the water. She chases a flip flop. Getting hit by big waves doesn't bother her. Getting smashed into the shore by waves doesn't bother her. She has yet to want to quit before we do. Our previous dog, also a cockapoo, liked water too.

Not too big a deal but it's fucking pouring, 1.5" in 30 minutes is no joke! But yeah, just get up and go out in slippers and move the fukn thing because the driver's an asshole and this keeps happening.
They can get out and move the can just as easy as you can, I suggest you just smile/ wave and go make your self a coffee

A panicked dog can be a Houdini at escaping enclosures, houses, etc. And even if you keep them contained they’re still absolutely terrified and that’s not a nice thing.

I’m not over here leading some concerned citizens group for the banning of sparklers and bottle rockets, they’re just dangerous and wasteful and it’s fucking rude to make big boom noises that upset your neighbors’ dogs. And when the trash ends up in my yard we call that littering. That’s also rude. Why is it ok to be rude on the weeks surrounding the 4th???

Sorta like the guy laying on their horn in the street. At least he had a purpose loosely grounded in productivity behind making a loud annoying noise. He’s still rude.

And MTM’s take on this is still one of the douchiest things I’ve seen him post. And he’s posted a lot of douchey shit.
    focus.

I’m confused, isn’t Canada Day celebrated with gatherings, festivities and fireworks?

^Y’all aint kidding about fireworks. I’ve been back in my Ohio hometown for the first 4th in a decade. I drove past Akron last night and that looked like Beirut. When I got to my folks place there was a 30 minute neighborhood show right before their cities 30 minute show. Plus errant fireworks all week during the day.

Covid. It finally got me. Right in the middle of my distant sister's lightning short visit.

The gastro issues from what I'm assuming to be a FLiRT strain are near norovirus intense but longer lasting.

At least I can still taste my food so far.

Norovirus is the most unpleasant thing I have ever experienced (with exception of putting to sleep my lab-border collie mix, Lucy).

    I lost 13 pounds in 13 hours.

Went camping this weekend at a super crowded campground (not my idea). The campsite next to us brought their two malamuts in the 90 degree weather and i swear those two dogs did not move all day. Really pretty sad, but they were in the shade and had plenty of water.

The annoying part is that later in the evening an older fat lady comes limping by with a big muscley great dane and a tiny toy dog. the Great Dane saw the malamuts and decided to aggressively investigate... immediately broke away from the fat old lady who fell down, and a fight between the 3 dogs ensued (not sure any of the big dogs even noticed the yappy ankle biter involved in the fray). I was with my toddler at the time, and had no intention of going to help so i just watched a group of 5 humans (all terrible physical specimens) try to break up a dog fight for about 5 minutes because none of them could physically restrain any of the giant dogs. The fight only stopped because the malamutes overheated and stopped. Early the next morning, i went to take a dump at the camp toilet and as i walked out of the bathroom i ran into that same fat old lady and her Great Dane who promptly growled at me. Like really lady? Why the fuck would you bring that aggressive giant dog to a crowded ass campground on the 4th of july and then parade it around when every 3rd campsite had dogs? WTF?

The Dane must have been relaying the fat owner's world hate; normally they're pretty even tempered.

Another annoying Dane owner encounter: woman with a "service" Great Dane at our local Farmers Market in the prepared food section where no dogs are allowed.

I see people bringing dogs into grocery stores all the time now. I generally don't care but have witnessed two incidents where the dog took a shit in the store. Not cool.

Same. I had it last month and it was barely a cold so I thought that was the new trend but I know a couple people since that got it and were really feeling it badly

The folks around the block from us before we moved had a dog+people-reactive Great Dane that was often walked by a maybe 130-lb woman. Quickly learned to walk the other way when we saw them on the street because that woman was way too small to restrain the dog. The other ones I've met have all been chill (GDs, not women)

I help out making glades and other improvements to a small nonprofit ski hill (Black Mountain of Maine). It struggles to stay in the black so I give it props on fb (yeah I know about done with that shit). Anyways folks who do nothing except enjoy the fruits of our hard labor shushing me to keep it quiet. Makes me want to cross check them into a tree

My wife has told me about a GD whose owners where her previous BFs good family friends. The GD apparently had a super strong prey drive and had killed 2 other small dogs, 1 house cat and mauled another dog. The owners were wealthy and knew the dead animal's owners each time and were able to pay them off, or the dead animal lived in the same household as them... but apparently they just moved every year or so, and kept walking the dog in public and taking it places (hence the multiple killings and maulings). Apparently, youd have never known what evil shitty owners they were if you met the people or the dog... unless of course you brought a small child/dog/animal/etc. JFC.

Small woman neighbor had a Great Dane. She was walking it on the little road out back. Our little yapper got up in its face, yapped at it and took off down the hill to our house. I yelled at the lady to let go of her dog before it dragged her down the hill. The Dane caught up with ours at the back door where ours stood there yapping. The Dane lost interest and went back up to the road. Apparently they don't like yappers any more than people do.

I bought a bunch of fresh fruit to make some cocktails over the weekend and am using the leftovers in my smoothies in the morning instead of frozen fruit and holy hell my stomach is not happy. Luckily I work from home or I might be in the i shit my pants thread instead.
