It's way more scenic than driving to Canada, and going across the mostly open water of Georgia Strait. Plus the BC ferries are a lot more expensive. And they don't let you chill in the truck with the dogs.

Yeah, it's nuts. We're going to the island in July and have already booked the reservations.

You pretty much need reservations all the time now. And yeah the fares have become outrageous.

Also the reason we had to wait is because we didn't get a reservation. I knew I needed one for the outbound sailing, since it was on a Saturday, but I figured mid-day on Monday I probably wouldn't need one. Nope. The 11:00 ferry was full by 10:00. Last Monday wasn't a holiday in Canada and it was well over 90% Canadian plates and that's a big ferry!
Did that one on my motorcycle too.

When someone you are just starting to really get to know lets out that they are really a closed narrow minded sheltered judgmental DB. At least I'm old enough to give it the necessary time for it to play out and dodge a large caliber bullet. Still very annoying though. I wouldn't call it a waste of time, but more of a necessary test of my gut science.

Sriracha suspending production for the summer due to chili pepper shortage. No new shipments until after Labor Day.
I can live without TP. I can live without buying a new car. I can live with $10 gasoline. I can definitely live without baby formula. But now shit's getting real. (Although the shortage is weather related, not covid.) Thanks, Biden.

I certainly pour it on like ketchup. And ya, it's my version of ketchup. Definitely not a real hot sauce.

Someone gave me some fancy German mustard in a squeeze tube like old school toothpaste yesterday. I might not ever go back.

Living without TP is a little easier if you’re also living without sriracha.

It's ok. I have had better in-house ones at some restaurants.

Sriracha is not my favorite hot sauce but like my favorite store bought--La Victoria Salsa Brava and Pico Pica--it is relatively low on vinegar. Too many hot sauces overwhelm the chile flavor with acid. My favorite is enchilada sauce I make from NM powered dry chiles, stock, and spices. No tomatoes, no vinegar. Good chiles are more than just heat.

I feel the same way about sauces that are just really spicy but don’t bring much flavor. Lots of hot sauces don’t really add anything flavor-wise and that’s a shame. Good hot sauces can be really flavorful AND really hot.

Agreed. I’ve been liking Iguana hot sauces from Costa Rica. Good flavor and spice balance.
